The location is excellent. Right on the beach. Plenty of free parking, and it is within reasonable walking distance of Palomares and not too far either from Villaricos (though you need a bike or car for that). Menu is quite uninspiring, heavily fish based and if you are vegetarian or vegan it really offers little of interest. I could find absolutely nothing that tempted me. Service can be quite slow. Very bad attitude from management towards vegetarians/vegans. Insulting, offensive, foolish and decades out of date. They also claim that "everyone" enjoys fish which is totally ridiculous. Fish are dead animals. Vegetarians and vegans do not eat dead animals... a fact that this place seems oblivious to. Review revised downwards in the light of aggressive and offensive comments from the management.

Impaciente? 🤦🏼‍♀️Pena que no miramos las reseñas antes de ir , varias personas se han quejado de lo mismo. Camareras con malas caras y regañando al único chico decente que trabaja allí por estar disculpándose por la demora. Abiertamente nos dicen que tienen falta de personal , pues entonces no cojáis más comensales si no podéis atender como corresponde. Obviamente entre más de media hora para pedir y una hora para que traigan la comida es normal que el cliente pregunte desde el respeto y la educación. La calidad de la comida .... Deja mucho que desear, una de las camareras nos dijo de mala gana que ella es camarera y la habían puesto en cocina sin saber ... No me extraña que la lubina al horno estuviera incomible (pongo foto) si no sabéis gestionar en horario de comidas os aconsejo que os dediquéis a poner mojitos y punto . Aaahhh que lo mismo cobrais por poner hielo extra como he leído en algunos comentarios 😅*Chiringuito digno de programa de Chicote! Camareras maleducadas (solo se libra el chico) hablándose mal entre ellas y al chico que se estaba disculpando con nosotros por la demora le dice que menos hablar! Teníamos reserva a las 15, no había manera de que nos tomarán nota de las bebidas , al cabo de un buen rato lo conseguimos y más de media hora después nos toman nota de la comida, al fin traen la ensalada, escasa como ella sola (las de Mercadona tienen más cantidad ) venga esperar y no traen la comida , una hora después y tras reclamarla varias veces la traen, comida del montón y una lubina que pedimos pasada y quemada que eso no había manera de comerlo. No nos ha gustado nada el trato recibido y hemos decidido poner hoja de reclamación, no me extraña que las camareras sean tan maleducadas si el dueño también lo es, argumenta que habíamos llegado los últimos y queríamos ser atendidos los primeros. Falta de profesionalidad y pésima comida. Nada recomendable!!!

AKUA is a superbly located restaurant right on the beach ⛱ front of Palomares with loads of free car 🚗 parking 👌 outside the entrance. The waitress was 💯 relaxed and super friendly, speaking some English 🇬🇧 in return for us speaking some Spanish 🇪🇸 and made great conversation with us. The food 🍽 is spectacularly tasty using finest fresh ingredients and the fish 🐟 dishes are a triumph 👏 The only criticism would be that the Desserts 🍨 are tasty, but need to be a little bit more of a substantial portion for the price. That small point aside, it's a 5*rating for this eaterie👌

We used to love it here but now the service is terrible and the food not worth putting up with the bad service Despite my whole family ordering in Spanish we were treated like stupid tourists. We ordered 4 starters and 4 mains and everything came out at the same time despite it being made clear that we having 2 courses. The hamburgers were ordered without tomato but came with it anyway and the buns were so dry that they broke when touched. The pork was bloody (which I don't mind but no choice was given) the plates were not cleared from the table as they were finished so we had to wrestle to eat the food. Was ignored when attempting to order a 2nd drink and the whole attitude was surly and rude (to everyone as far as I could tell). Sadly won't...

I’ve lived locally for many years and cycled past Akua many times but never stopped Now I know why .. it’s reputation is true Great location but you pay for it by being treated and ripped off like a tourist €16 for a salad .. it’s a basic chiringuito in Almeria, home of salad stuff, not Puerto Banus .. c’mon And the staff .. the two lookalike chicas .. half asleep on a packed music afternoon .. couldn’t be bothered to bring us some menus and drinks turn up 10 mins after waiting 15 mins to be able to even order .. terrible Give it a miss, enjoy the lovely beach and head into Garrucha where there’s plenty of competition that wants your money Speaking...
