what a wonderful surprise this restaurant was! i randomly made a reservation on a whim just looking through reviews and we were so pleased with everything from the decor to the service to the food. We were led to a table with a little flower vase on it that had my name handwritten in chalk paint and even though its so simple it left such an impression! The service was impeccable, there was always someone at our attention asking if we needed anything or to clear the table. We ordered a sangria (delicious) the flamenquin (fabulous! nice and crunchy with a really flavorful mix of pork and ham), the terreznos and chips (I think that was a special of the night but the terreznos had a lot of pork meat on them, super crunchy and FRESH, which is so important for them not to be hard to chew. they came with housemade chips and a BBQ sauce that I almost wanted to lick off the plate) and the blue cheese fusilli pasta that I wanted to BEG the chef for the recipe for. overall this was one of the best meals we had during our two week...
Read moreMy wife and I went on a day trip on Nov 2nd via bullet train from Madrid to Andalusia's city of Cordoba. Just to visit Mezcat Catedral, it's worth the trip there. And what a culinary treat to visit this beautiful restaurant, Restaurante El Rincon De Carmen, which is a great representation of Cordoba, with its cuisine, and decor with flowerpots and patio.
El Rincon De Carmen has a beautiful patio, very IG-worthy. I just had to take lots of photos. But what I had that day, Lagarto Iberico Especiado, a well seasoned pork cut that almost reminded me of a very good piece of steak. Gorgeous to photograph as it is delicious! I also had fried milk (leche frita) with caramel ice cream and syrup for dessert. Omg very very good! A must visit if you're ever in Cordoba, Andalucia, Spain!
The Lagarto Iberico was so delicious looking that next table, two female British tourists asked me what it was and both ordered the same thing! This hit the spot and inspired our fellow customers. 😁 Well done, @restauranterincondecarmen...
Read moreWe tried to come here for dinner after having seen all the positive ratings but they were full on that night, so make sure to reserve in advance! There are just a few places outside, so I'd definitely suggest to try & get one of those instead of those on the inside. We managed to come for lunch the next day and it was well worth the wait! We had 2 salmorejos, a tuna tataki and a Córdoba pie for dessert for a light lunch - the first two dishes were fantastic! For the dessert, I wasn't a fan of the taste, but that's just a personal preference. We were also lucky with the service, all the waiters were extremely friendly, plus we had a little limoncello offered on the house 🥰 The place is located in a cute little courtyard, during the day they leave the roof closed to create shade from the sun & in the evening they remove it. We would definitely come back again to try some other dishes if we would happen to be in...
