Cafetería Niki & Niki — Restaurant in Dénia

Update: after two years they are still amazing! Tonight the staff were so kind and gifted us a piece of their delicious cheesecake (tarta de queso al horno) with a candle in it for my husband’s birthday, and they sang him happy birthday. It was close to closing time but they didn’t rush us at all. We also enjoyed their honey cake which is heavenly! Both cakes are some of the best desserts in town and their unique beer and organic wines are very good too. It’s a special place we highly recommend.

Original review from 2022. I love this place. Their apple and cinnamon danish is delicious, and the rest of their food looks amazing. They also make their own sourdough bread which is available by the loaf or in smaller portions. The terrace area is charming and inside is cozy and beautiful as well. When I ordered agua sin gas (still water) I was given a full pitcher with raspberry ice cubes, fresh blueberries, lime, and rosemary - such a nice touch and refreshing! My love from first sight, sip of coffee and bite of cake. Whatever you want from a café, you’ll find here – great coffee (really great and yes, it is a miracle to find it round here!!) or tea to your taste, fragrant croissants, fresh sourdough bread, delicious food, desserts and drinks – whichever you pick will be a good choice. The place has got class, authentic style, cozy and democratic atmosphere, welcoming and attentive service, excellent team and what I appreciate very much is the feeling you get here that you can just relax and enjoy. I can’t believe I’ve walked past this place so many times without realizing it’s a bakery – talk about a hidden gem in Denia. I finally went in recently, and honestly… life-changing.

The bread? Unreal. The one with nuts is probably the best bread I’ve ever eaten in my life. It’s also probably the most expensive bread I’ve ever eaten in my life – but hey, if I have to sell a kidney, at least I’ll do it with good toast in hand.

The sweets, cakes, everything – next level. I don’t even know how to fit it into my diet, but I’ll happily break all the rules for this place.

So yeah, food is 5/5 without question. Prices? Well… let’s just say I wish I could afford to go every day. Still, if you’re in Denia and want bakery goods that will blow your mind, this is the spot....
