Royal India — Restaurant in Dénia

The food was not fresh, could not taste Indian flavor, definitely had microwaved rice that felt like chewing cardboard. The chicken tasted of water and cabbage and had 0 flavor. Very small portions (kids size at best) and no possible way you could get full. Soup was in a cup and €5 (a scam), normally this comes free. Response: You can’t say €13 a person then give food that’s worth less than €5 a person because it doesn’t even make you full, I left your restaurant feeling more hungry. This Review is for your improvement you’re supposed to agree with the customer and reflect on your mistakes, don’t go and expose our bill and how many people were present (my family) this is a very bad thing to do. Also you never said you don’t microwave your rice from 1 month ago which shows the quality of your “English lentil food”. Hopefully you see this as a chance to improve your food and hygiene of food (especially the flavor) because this can’t be classified as Indian, cus it feels like you use oxygen as seasoning. We know the taste of Indian food and this isn’t Indian, it’s just food that’s edible. We were in Dénia only briefly to hop onto a ferry that would take us to Ibiza. Before boarding we wanted to grab some lunch and we were quite excited to find an Indian restaurant in this beautiful coastal town. The owners of the restaurant welcomed us so warmly, and obliged to take our order even as they had a few minutes before closing. The service and hospitality were excellent. We ordered vegetarian food and everything tasted great, just what our palette needed. We were very satisfied with the lunch and decided to come back on our return from Ibiza. We were scheduled to leave for Valencia and had very less time from the arrival at Dénia to the next departure so we decided to order a takeaway. As we were nearing the port I made a call to the restaurant to make an order. The owners very kindly obliged and took our order. Due to a time crunch, they kept the food ready and waited for our taxi to arrive at their restaurant , handed us the food so we don’t spend time getting off the taxi to collect it. We had a dinner for 4 persons. Two of them had bad stomach problems afterwards. Moreover, the dishes were poor in meat. There were a lot of salsa but in my chicken korma only 6pieces of chicken. We had chicken butter, was ok, chicken korma - poor, chicken biryani - so so. The portions are poorer and smaller then in other indian restaurants. And if you expect some limoncello or chupito or ice crean on the house…forget it, other places do that. Will definetely not come back to that place again.

—————————— Dear owner, First of all, I have not written the food tasted bad and we did not eat it. Plates were empty because we ate it all. I wrote the portions were small. Secondly, one piece of chicken is not the same as other piece of chicken. You should do a meal including certain amount of meat in grams, not in number of pieces. 8 pieces in one dish can weigh differently then 8 pieces in other. Moreover, noone came and ask if we liked it, just after the meal if we are finnished.
