Alma de Mar — Restaurant in el Campello

We had been wanting to visit all summer, because the location is wonderful and it looks very cute. It’s right at the beach, the terrace is decorated with care and has a bohemian beachy feel. It was medium busy, half of the tables were occupied. We ordered two American sandwiches, a cafe latte and an ice tea. The drinks came quite quickly but the glass was dirty with lipstick from a previous guest. This can happen of course, it’s still August and it was busy. However, my new glass was even dirtier than the first one so I drank from the bottle. The sandwiches arrived and were nothing like to photo on the menu. We checked with the staff if we had received the correct order. It was a mere tosti, with one slice of cheese (not cheddar, as the menu said), one slice of York ham and an egg between two slices of white bread. Not only was this not as we were expecting, it was definitely not worth the +€8,- each. Staff was unfortunately not very attentive and it took forever to receive the bill. I can understand it takes a while, as I mentioned it’s still high-season with a couple of days to go, but one waiter for everyone was clearly not enough. Won’t be returning any time soon,...

Do not come here, they have a 2.5 on TripAdvisor for a reason. First off they sat our group down and it took 20 minutes to get drink orders. Once we ordered drinks we were told we had to wait to order food because the kitchen was backed up… but they couldn’t even take our order and put it in the queue? 30 minutes later and we had to track someone down to take our order, who when asked if we could order responded “why do you think I’m here?”. Staff was very friendly & accommodating but honestly the food was pretty bad. Maybe okay if you just want some light snack and drinks but we went for dinner and the only substantial main dishes they had were odd overpriced salads. I ordered the salmon one for 14€ and it was just three pieces of smoked salmon probably bought from the grocery store and a handful of lettuce. The spanish tortilla was slighty cold as if it had been improperly microwaved. Even the patatas bravas were undercooked and sloppily prepared.
