Restaurante Costa Blanca 2011 — Restaurant in el Campello

I walked here from Alicante along the old rail line walkway to Albufereta and across from there to the beach (see picture 2). And I wanted a restaurant near the tram station at Carrabiners, to avoid a long wait for my return. So this chiringuito fitted the bill for convenience. I did look at the other reviews and tend to agree about the higher than average prices and portion sizes. But I also agree the view from the terrace is great, my beer was ice cold (in a very well-chilled glass), and the glass of house wine was very drinkable with my boquerones. This was i would say the worst lunch i’ve had in spain. staff were rude and dismissive, waiting to be sat for a good 10 minutes to then we were sat down for 20 minutes before we even got menus then another 20 minutes for drinks! Not to mention waiters were blatantly ignoring us. Our food was ok we asked for bread for the table and got given one bread roll between 2 of us. i had the garlic shrimp which was nice but could’ve had a bit more flavour. We’ve been coming to the Costa Blanca Restaurant for many years and we have noticed cut backs on the portions of the food in ways which are a disservice to the customer as prices have increased . First it was 3 prawns from 4 , then it was no tuna in the salad on the set menu and now we find small portions with the paella dishes. A paella for three people is good for two otherwise you get small portions like we did. We complained but no point as they try to tell you otherwise as if we are stupid. Really too mean to deserve anymore...
