We arrived in sunshine with threatening rain clouds but decided to sit outside. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and when the clouds came over they bought us blankets. When it started to drop a little rain they suggested we went inside, we decided to brave it and put up their large canopy umbrella. As we finished our meal the heavens opened and they brought us inside for coffee and some complimentary chocolate. We waited out the storm happily watching the weather and the people being looked after. Restaurante L’Hort or from the Catalan, Garden Resturant, is a beautiful family run establishment nestled on the approach to Quadalest with spectacular views eastward over the rock face and terraced valley from the balcony and windows in the dining area. I stopped for lunch after visiting the hilltop village on a 33 degree summers day. The atmosphere is lively and family orientated with superb, attentive service. Precioso restaurante situado en la falda del Castillo de Guadalest, con una terraza con vistas al mar, a pesar de estar situado en el interior. Menu de 19€ que incluye un primero un segundo, bebida y postre o café. El menu no tiene muchos platos que elegir, hay dos primeros y dos segundos, para nosotros no fue problema por que estaban deliciosos. De primero sirven embutido de la zona y Minxos (es una torta de maiz rellena de acelgas y pasas) sinceramente está increíble. De segudo tenian pilota de putxero, que es un guiso muy tradicional valenciano que se sirve una pelota de carne especiada y envuelta en una col con un guiso de verduras y otras carnes que le otorgan un sabor delicioso con un toco cítrico, sin dida fue mi plato estrella. El otro segundo es "olleta" un estofado tradicional de guadales que lleva aluvias blancas y tintas, acelgas, costillas, morcilla , verduritas y blanquet, estaba especiado con micho gusto y nos recordaba a un toque morisco con hierba buena. Sinceramente tambien lo encontramos muy bueno. De postres pedimos flan de limon, para mi gusto muy flojo, natillas y contesa. Los postres si eran caseros no estaban muy conseguidos, los dejamos tambien porque habiamos comodo una barbaridad. Seguidamente tomamos cafe, y copas. Todo salio por 26€ ya que pedimos un Vino tinto extra, Sangre de Toro ( una garnacha, muy bueno). Pasamos una muy agradable velada, ya que teniamos solecito y conseguimos una mesa en la terraza con esas fabulosas vistas, el olor a pueblo el bullicio de los turistas, la compañia la comida hicieron que nuestra velada fuera muy gratificante.
