We arrived early Monday evening for my husbands birthday, we didn't book but were welcomed with open arms,I was delighted that the menu is short but it is imaginative, with Mexican twist, with a few other dishes to try if you dont like spicy 😃 A very impressive olive oil was presented to the table with fresh garlic butter and hot rolls, the olive oil was delicious We had the prawn popcorn to start ( sharing )which had a creamy sauce mixed on it,very flavoursome and nicely presented, I had the pulled pork tacos ,so delicious and beautifully presented and husband had the Thai curry with perfect jasmine rice,he licked the bowl 🥣 Desserts were really nice and sponge cake with icing and a pistachio cheese cake, Husband had the sponge cake I was too full to eat mine but was offered to take it away,so I did! During the meal the owner topped up our wine and said because it was my husband birthday the 2nd desert was on the house ,so kind and generous of Franciso the owner, who we didn't know but he made us feel like we were very special, if you would like a different style of food, with a difference, definitely give this restaurant a turn, you wont be disappointed. It is in the Villicana resort complex but can be accessed from the street sidewith plenty of free on street parking bonus !! We will definitely be back and will recommend this to our friends and family,Thank you Francisco and partner for a wonderful ...
Read moreThis was a bit disappointing. We had an excellent waiter however the food was very expensive for what it was. They also had a ‘specials’ menu which was just said to us at the side of the table without being transparent with their prices. 2 in our group ordered the tomahawk from the specials and one ordered the ribeye Steak. They were all very tough and covered in salt (4 of the party in our group tried this and all agreed). When we complained they argued that other customers hadn’t said the same. However when the bill came the tomahawks were €90 each! You would expect much better quality food for these prices. (My husband couldn’t even chew some parts of his). The wine was nice and the owner was very knowledgeable when it came to wine, however they added an extra bottle to the bill so we had to get this removed. Some starters came about 15 minutes before others too which was a bit disjointed. The waiter however from Morocco was very friendly and very...
Read moreI was staying on site at the Villacana resort. KAÏ is located next to the pool opening from 11 am. I often visited the bar/restaurant/cafe by myself or with my son. They sell/serve drinks (alcoholic & soft) for those using the pool area, breakfast, and lunch/dinner menu. Local people frequent the venue for dinner and/or drinks in the evenings alongside resort guests. The quality of the food is superb using the finest ingredients. The extra virgin olive oil is excellent (bread dipping) and specially prepared for the venue. The food is exquisitely turned out with tastes to excite the taste buds. The owner works hard to maintain high standards, which shows. Staff are pleasant and helpful, polite and thoughtful, friendly and approachable. I highly recommend KAÏ to all. It's wonderful to be able to embrace a menu that offers enticing options that are not run of the mill. Eg. Breakfast menu (served 11 - 2 daily) option - Serrano Ham and poached eggs...
