Oh! How I wanted to love this place. After traveling the world for the past 10+ years, I moved to Estepona for a job six weeks ago and I plan to spend the rest of my life here. And I LOVE brunch. Eggs benedict is one of my favorite things in the world to eat. You could go back and read my restaurant reviews and see me talk about eggs benedict for years. I read a lot of the reviews, both good and bad, before visiting this place. I knew it was going to be expensive, but it's in the center of the tourist area so that's to be expected. But be warned, the eggs benedict are priced for Paris.
I had read a different review complaining that their eggs benedict was served cold, but I always give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. Mistakes are made. I'll give them a chance. But mine was too. It was the salmon that did it. It seemed as if they took cold salmon out of the refrigerator and put it straight onto the bread then put the egg on top. Then that, of course, made my eggs, bread and then the hollandaise sauce cold.
I ate half of one egg and stopped. I waited 12 minutes and no one ever came to check on me and try as I might I couldn't get anyone's attention but the people at the table next to me. I ate my tomatoes that were served on the side. Five more minutes passed and still no one came. I was just sitting there clearly not eating my meal. I was soooooooo hungry. I finally gave up and ate the other half of one egg. After that I could not finish the other egg. Cold eggs benedict is simply not appealing in the slightest.
After 22 minutes when I was finally able to get the server's attention I told her my food was served cold, I did not like it, I was ready to leave. She asked me if I wanted to take it home. Why would I want to take something I didn't like home with me? So I can cook it properly? I'm already a good cook. The whole point of my treat-myself-Sunday-mornings is so I don't have to cook! She brought me the check and proudly told me she had taken half off. I guess that's because I had eaten half the food? That's only because I was extremely hungry and was left ignored at my table for over 20 minutes.
I did like the coffee. I had a cafe con leche and there was nothing wrong with it. Once again, it's priced for tourists but look at where you are. I'm not complaining about the prices. I'm only making sure you know what to expect. The interior design is beautiful. I wish I could say I loved the place. It is definitely the type of place I would visit every Sunday morning. Instead I am writing this from my second restaurant this morning. I will not be returning when there are so many amazing places to choose...
Read moreOur visit to this café left us with mixed feelings. The ambiance, both exterior and interior, is undeniably attractive and stylish. The menu initially piques curiosity with its diverse and interesting selection, but the prices significantly dampen the overall experience. The pricing is far above what one would expect from a café, particularly when considering the regional Andalusian style. This gave the impression that it caters more to tourists than to locals who appreciate authentic and reasonably priced cuisine.
Our breakfast was certainly tasty, but it was by no means exceptional, making the high prices unjustifiable. Particularly disappointing were the pancakes we ordered at the end of our meal. They were served cold and hard, clearly indicating that they were not freshly made. We politely raised this issue, and the waitress took the dish back without argument. Unfortunately, the pancakes still appeared on our bill, leading to an unpleasant discussion about whether we should pay for them. After a lengthy back-and-forth, we were finally given the benefit of the doubt, and the pancakes were removed from the bill.
This incident significantly marred our overall impression, and we regret choosing this café based on its outward appearance. It will certainly be our first and last visit. We hope that other guests will read our experience and not be swayed by the beautiful facade and appealing...
Read moreI really liked the place, even though they have opened up just a couple of months ago so putting this feedback for the owner to be aware of! Please add tips available to make through the machine I ordered oat cappuccino which was really really good. Probably the best I tried in Estepona. My husband did not like his regular one that much though Food was amazing. I ordered salmon on toast with cucumber and spinach and it was really good and fresh. Interior is really really lovely. Service was good, but the absence of menu in English slightly disappointed. Carrot cake was lovely too. Would be nice to separate the lunch and brunch menus to avoid the confusion for the guest
Wish you good luck with...
