We were drawn in by the good reviews, but had a very substandard experience. This burger place had only one burger bun, so one of our group of 3 opted for a gluten-free bun instead, and one opted for no bun at all. It’s quite pricey for a burger and fries in Mallorca, but not outrageous. But when you can eat really well at home for a fraction of the cost of eating out, a restaurant should offer something special in terms of food and experience. Unfortunately I think this was the saddest burgers I’ve had in years, and none of the food really had any taste. Even the pickles, which should add sharpness, had almost no flavour. That in itself is quite an achievement, just not one to be proud of. I have to be fair that the 4.50 EUR glass of orange juice (that I had to ask for twice, and finally got after finishing the meal) was delicious. When the bill came and we wanted to split it three ways, the waiter was not happy. He said his boss didn’t like that, and one person should pay the whole bill with one card. He finally agreed to let us use two cards. I live in Mallorca, splitting the bill is completely normal, and I’ve never experienced any other restaurant here taking this unnecessary attitude. This was an expensive and fairly miserable end to an otherwise nice visit...
Read moreAn awesome experience, just like Mallorca itself - crisp, clean and unforgettable (is the description of the wine we had :) We ordered the tuna and the seabass (fish of the day). Both meals were exceptional. The best tuna we had ever tasted, same can ba said for the seabass. The service was very attentive, the hosts and the waiter tended us throughout the dinner. Nice mellow music was playing thoughout the dinner, so the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The hosts were both involved with the customers throughout the evening - one could feel the passion! You should make a reservation - we did not get a table the first evening, we had to make a reservation for the second evening. The place is next to the village main road with almost no traffic but you get a feeling of the evening vibe - people walking by and the occasional car passing. You feel like you are in the middle of the village while not being annoyed too much. Fornalutx is said to be the cutest village in Mallorca and Groenk is definitely a reason to visit the village. Definitely...
Read moreWe’re seated on the outdoor terrace and the ambiance was lovely. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Whilst the menu wasn’t extensive, the food was presented well and tasted very good. We had the toast tomatoes with sardine and the grilled octopus with romesco sauce. The romesco wasn’t like we get back in Oz but it was still tasty and the octopus soft. The portions were quite large for a starter. We both got the steak. We weren’t exactly sure what we were getting as the waiter explained and said it would be cooked medium. They showed us the steaks and we got to choose. The steak did not look as pink as we expected but it was sooo soft. However they cooked it, with a char on the outside was one of the best we have had during a Euro Vacay. The house red was also a winner. Overall was very happy. The price was just under €100 which we felt was reasonable and aligned for what we have paid elsewhere. Would definitely recommend and to book ahead of time as several people were...
