Bahia Azul — Restaurant in Fuengirola

My friend and I dined at Bahia Azul this evening and it's genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had anywhere in the world. I'm relatively new to Tapas, but love the idea of small, sharing plates enjoyed as an experience and what an experience it was!

Everything about Bahia Azul is inviting, from the decor to the ambient music and the incredibly friendly service. It honestly was like dining at a friend's house with food lovingly made just for you. Our waiter was so friendly and helped us choose several dishes from a beautifully curated menu. We got the albondigas and bread to begin with, then the nachos with cheese, salsa and crème fraîche, after that was the papas arrugadas, mini oxtail burger and mini burrito.

I cannot describe how incredibly flavoursome each dish was. We dined for over two hours and not one mouthful of food felt wasted! For dessert my friend and I ordered the Cheesecake and chocolate truffles, however there weren't any truffles left, so instead, the chef asked if he could prepare us something special instead. We got baked banana with salted chocolate and Strawberries with red chili! It was sublime.

Along with all this wonderful food, desserts, two bottles of lemon Victoria beer, 2 fantas and a bottle of water, our total was €44.50, which felt really underpriced for not only the beautiful food but also the amazing service. Don't sleep on Bahia Azul, they're a young restaurant but absolutely perfect...

I cannot believe we have been here for almost a year and have just now discovered this amazing restaurant with beautiful sea views on the paseo marítimo en Torreblanca. In fairness, we do not eat out much, but when we do we are definite foodies and enjoy a nice culinary experience. From the moment we arrived the staff greeted us with a warm welcome and already had our table prepared as we were a large party of 9. The chef and owner offered wonderful suggestions and it was a tough decision to not try everything. We did ensure a good sampling of appetizers and mains, including an incredible salmorejo that reminded me of the days on my grandad’s farm and the fresh meals prepared from the daily harvest. The sauce's that accompanied our chicken skewers and potatoes were noticeably homemade- simple and flavorful. We explored as much of the menu as possible, including the ribs, meatballs, poke bowls, vegetarian and shrimp burgers to name a few. From the attentive and friendly staff to the delicious meals prepared , the only disappointment was that we did not leave any room for dessert and coffee.
