I visited this place with my wife. I liked the food but unfortunately one staff member was very rude with us.
The lady in question had dark hair, was medium build, with facial hair and in her forties. I would avoid her at all costs! She was probably the owner or manager, I think she was upset with how much we ordered but to be honest it wasn’t that much food and it’s meant to be all you can eat. If you’re unhappy with your customers ordering food don’t make it an all you can eat. We were having a really nice time aswell until her rude behaviour.
When we were paying she was making comments and looking at us and laughing. The whole experience was very degrading. My wife had an eating disorder before so she found it very triggering. We were very upset and went for a few drinks around places close by we talked about what we experienced.
The local staff members and locals are familiar with her. They said she’s known to be mean and even the other staff at Toyo talk badly about her and are embarrassed by her behaviour.
Also to note they don’t speak English and don’t have English menus. Maybe this is intentional to stop foreign customers coming in. This is bizarre not to have English speaking staff members or menus considering Fuengirola is a tourist destination!
The other staff members working there seemed nice, the food was good and came out quickly. I was planning on having my birthday party there the following night but their behaviour put me off and also told the party about them and they were disgusted by their behaviour.
I would recommend to them to be more friendly and accommodating to English speaking customers and also not to shame their customers. I also think this woman should not be allowed to deal customers at all, she had a horrible attitude and left us with a very bad experience. We love to support businesses so it’s upsetting to have to write this :( I hope they change! This place has good...
Read moreWe booked a table 19:00 but a small hassle when I noticed that opening hours were 19:30-23:30 and they didn’t answer to phone nor sms, they had the break between lunch and dinner services so okay, kinda acceptable.
We took the buffet libre for all. Food I ordered was great, mostly focusing on sashimi, ceviche, tataki and grilled langostinis which were all awesome. Some of our group mentioned that they would have hoped a bit more wider menu, some similar type of restaurants do offer also mussels, frog legs, lamb chops. And some makis were maybe a little bit dry but nothing dramatic. Good overall quality and selection.
One thing to maybe notice, if you take the buffet libre and you order for example fried rice; it’s not a small portion, it’s a huge plate full of fried rice. Quite often in these buffet libre ones the portions ordered are smaller so you can order and taste more different foods. Especially when there’s the 3e fine for every...
