!!!! Update 23rd October 2021 !!!
Further to the response by the owner. He clearly has me mistaken with yet another unhappy client. I was out for dinner with my wife and 91 year old mother in law. The last thing I wanted was hassle. The food lacked taste. It is my decision, as the paying customer, to add seasoning, if I want to. The sole role of the restaurateur is to ensure I enjoy the food, and my visit. I did neither, the restaurateur cannot, and should not, look to blame his paying customer for his failure. The only reason I needed the complaint book, was because of his appalling attitude. It was because he could not produce the complaint book, which by law he is meant to have and produce on request, which he realised, that to save himself further embarrassment when the police arrived, that he chose to give us our meal for free. Had he responded to our criticism in a professional manner, and had a complaint book, he would not have left himself without an alternative but to give away the meal. Again, both of these responsibilities are his sole failures!!!!
!!!!!
Awful in so many different ways. The portion size of my spaghetti carbona was really small. The bowl had several chips in the side and it was almost tasteless. I asked for salt and pepper and parmesan. The waiter said it didn't need any!!! He reluctantly brought it and threw a few sachets of salt and pepper on the table. I mentioned the portion size was like a starter, but with a main course price tag. He told me I should order more food!!
I asked to speak to a manager. He claimed he was the owner. I said he had an attitude problem, he replied he didn't care. I said I would repeat my experience here, and on trip advisor, as people deserve more for their hard earned money . Again he replied he didn't care, so I am keeping my promise.
I asked him for our bill and the complaints book, which he is legally obliged to have and said as soon as I had written my complaint, i would pay our bill.
He said he didn't know what a complaint book was. I asked if we should contact the authorities, such as the police, to help them resolve the situation. He then seemed to understand and then, and only then, said not to pay the bill.
I wanted a nice meal out and wasn't looking to complain. My comments were actually meant as constructive criticism, but his attitude just made everything much worse.
I hope no-one else has an experience like this, as it...
Read moreFor starters we had bruschetta it was like hard toast and tasteless. It was very disappointing. The waiter was very unprofessional and rude when we mistook the price for numbers under the food listed on the menu and was told “this is not a Chinese restaurant”. The main course arrived, I asked for salt but I was told to taste the dish before he would give me it as he watched over me first. Also he tried to take my knife off me as he said I wouldn’t need a knife for the pasta. I managed to keep my knife but he proceeded to tell me not to cut my pasta but to swirl it. Then the owner came out to tell me that in Italy you wouldn’t use a knife - but he seemed to allow it as I had ordered shorter pasta and I had to have long as it was unavailable. Very condescending. Not to mention when we wanted to omit an ingredient from a dish we were told it would be an insult to the grandmothers recipe. The courses weren’t as special as the staff thought they were. Very self absorbed and vain staff. The owner was more concerned about his friends at the front counter. Could say more but overall very bad experience. Pictures all over the walls of a man (the owner) in flame patterned outfit he was also scratching his intimate areas as he came out the kitchen. No atmosphere from staff just standing there and intimidating us. Very little Italian food actually on menu. We will not...

The food was ok. Having been to several parts of Italy many times, being raised with Italians, and eating Italian food for the last 20 years I can say, this food was just ok. The bread and cheese bowl was the best thing they offered. What was worse was the customer service. When I asked a few questions about the food I was met with scoffs and snarky remarks. Pure arrogance and ignorance. The staff said, “In Italy, that’s how we are. “ what a poor representation of Italy and the lovely people there! Then apparently I committed the greatest sin ever by asking for Parmesan cheese. At first they told me “no” when I insisted the chef himself came out, yelled at me and then slammed it on the table. The staff defended the chef’s behavior and laughed. After this whole ordeal and the food not being that great, we didn’t finish any of our lunch...
