We had booked this for NYE. Delicious food. Odd atmosphere. Poor service. Maybe we had bad luck because the restaurant couldn’t handle NYE but it was not full.
The dishes were delicious. Good presentation and subtle flavours that were interesting. They are creating dishes we know but in a creative way with local ingredients. The flavours for dishes were subtle which we really liked. While the deserts had more intensity. The chef is doing an awesome job.
The atmosphere is not so great. The restaurant really needs to fix this. They have 4 sections. An older section which has dining tables and is more cozy in feeling. A bar style section which is more modern but the furniture seemed odd. Both these sections had warm lighting and music. The third is an outdoor section inside the building near an old staircase. It did not have a good atmosphere for evening dining with a giant plastic lamp as lighting. We were quite cold there too (a single gas heater which kept turning off. It only really works in the day in summer. Not one customer seemed to like the outdoor section. They would complain and be moved inside. The 4th section is outside the restaurant across the street. It is a very small area which looks like it would be pretty cool place to hangout when it is warm.
The most terrible aspect is the service. 2 waiters we had were good but the other 3 were terrible. This in particular includes the sommelier. I couldn’t understand the wine menu because I don’t know anything about local wines and the menu is only online (even for dining in). The sommelier was not interested in helping us and kept directing us online. He also didn’t seem to understand basics of wine. Eg the tajinaste had high tannins so decanting would help. When I mentioned it had high he seemed annoyed. It’s ridiculous because this is a wine bar. They also were not accommodating to any dietary requirements. Sadly I noticed that customers who complain the most seem to have better outcomes. The service really needs to become better.
Overall I won’t recommend this place because it was overpriced for the food in itself. Add to it the poor atmosphere and terrible service and this place is sadly not...

We recently visited this restaurant with hopes of enjoying a pleasant evening, but unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfying. One of the most striking aspects was the prohibitively high cost of the menus and beverages, significantly impacting our overall appreciation.
The prices were simply exorbitant. A piece of bread priced at 4 euros is hard to justify, and the tapas, ranging from 6 to 12 euros per bite (not per dish), left a bitter taste in our mouths, both literally and financially. Even a glass of wine, averaging 8 euros, contributed to making this dining experience more expensive than memorable.
Moreover, we were troubled by the fact that several customers we interacted with shared our dissatisfaction. It strongly raises suspicions that the positive reviews we had read earlier might be fake, as many patrons also seemed to feel deceived by the quality of the dishes compared to the prices charged.
In conclusion, the excessive prices, the lack of taste, the warm wine and doubts regarding the authenticity of reviews leave a lingering sense of disappointment.
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this establishment based on the overall experience we...
Read moreHad a wonderful dinner for my partner's birthday at El Rebojo. We chose El Rebojo after a bit of research online regarding the best restaurants in the northern part of Tenerife because of its locally-sourced products and reinterpreted dishes (and if I'm being honest, because it was listed in the Michelin Guide and we wanted to treat ourselves to a bit of a fancy evening). Booking a table was extremely facile, it took less than a minute to reserve online and we immediately received confirmation via email. When we got there, our expectations were exceeded. We tried the 5-course tasting menu paired with 5 local wines and we were absolutely delighted by how good everything was and by how the wine was incredibly well matched with each individual dish. Our server did an amazing job at explaining everything about our dishes with a passion, including their local sources and why they were mixed together into every dish. All the ingredients blend together creating perfectly balanced bites. After this lovely experience, we walked a bit around the center of Garachico and were impressed by its beauty and by how well El Rebojo is aligned within the area's flavor. Thanks for a delicious and...
