Due to the popularity of the restaurant and the high demand for certain dishes, we missed out on a couple of items that had run out by the time we arrived. This minor setback, however, did not overshadow the overall positive experience we had.

The main problem was with the fish (see picture). It was not fully descaled so it was a pain to eat. Yet I wasn’t annoyed as mistakes happen and we are all humans

However, what truely annoyed us was how the staff reacted to the situation.

When they asked us how the food was we complained about the missing descaling. The service lady then went to the kitchen and returned saying no scales were on the dishes. We were able to proof our claim with the picture but instead of owning their mistakes, they started blaming us and became very confrontational.

In my personal opinion, this is not how you react to a quality issue. You say sorry, own the mistake, maybe offer a little treat as an apology etc

This restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is out of this world, we liked it so much that ended up returning twice - totalling 3 visits in our week stay in Garachico! Absolutely no regrets as we ordered different things each time and everything we tried was amazing. The chopitos for starters were to die for, I have no idea how they make such a crumbly, crunchy batter. Los chocos saharianos con carbonara are OUT OF THIS WORLD! So so creative. We also had octopus, gambas al ajillo, fish of the day, mussels, rabbit - everything was cooked to perfection and extremely tasty.
