Elkano Txiki — Restaurant in Getaria

We had high hopes and were looking forward to our meal, however it was so disappointing! The bonito was lovely, and then everything else missed the mark unfortunately! The fish stew had little flavour and was slimy, the fish of the day for 26€ was small, very overcooked (boiled?) and fatty (see photo). The service was distracted and impersonal, and I needed to ask 3 times for a glass of wine.. The wine was actually really nice though!(usually I wouldn't mind but we felt very un-cared for). I hate leaving bad reviews but this time we felt the need to share our disappointment. Fantastic restaurant! We couldn't reach them by phone, but were lucky enough to get chairs at the bar. Everything is simply superb. First of all, their Txakoli. Like any drink, this comes in different quality levels, this one was the best we had so far. The Gilda's, Crab, Croquettes, unique Ravioli and also the Ceviche (* it's super fresh, but very different from a tradional spicy one in Peru). 🍽️ This authentic restaurant serves you the best ingredients from the sea but also fantastic croquetas de jamon and lots of other delicious dishes. Tip: make sure you still have just enough room for their tarta de queso. It's so good
