We’re from Sydney, Australia and have just spent a whole month in wonderful Gijon! Every morning (except Sundays) we were at Primera just before 9am to make sure we got a seat. Primera’s coffee and their Spanish version of avocado toast was exceptional as was Jairo and his teams service. We looked forward to seeing them every morning!! When Primera was closed on Sundays we tried a few other specialty coffee cafes, but can tell you Primera’s coffee, service and the cafe vibe was the best by far. Thanks to Jairo and his gorgeous girls for making our mornings so special - We miss you...

SPECIALTY COFFEE from the San Agustín roastery in León. The natural Brazilian espresso I had lacked body. My partner's "frappuccino" was not a frappé—more like cold milk with cocoa powder and a hint of coffee. The food options are limited. Breakfast is served until 12pm: toasts, pan tumaca, croissants and cake. Some granola or açai bowls would be nice. After 12pm, there are just sandwiches and tortilla. Nonetheless, Primero is one of the few places in Gijón to have a...

The second specialty coffee stop in gijon is a place with high quality beans, and the barista man knew which was the center but the server did not know much of coffee. Only gave the country of orgin when asked and a further detailed investigation for the details. The center hopper wasn't labeled but the small beans indicated high grown, slow growth, and complex flavor, from Kenya. Very complex in a full bodied depth. Deserving of praises from the farmer to the shop!
