Restaurante Gepetto Centro — Restaurant in Gijón

We were a group of 9 people and arrived at the restaurant because it was recommended to us. Once there, we asked if there was a table for 9 people. The front of the place had a bunch of reserved signed on the table. So the hostess told us that we would have to wait until 11:00pm. We asked it there were separate tables and she again told us that she could provide tables after 11:00pm. She was just nasty in her delivery. I can understand if they were short staffed or they simply could not accommodate us all together but the delivery of that message was rude. So we simply turned around and went elsewhere. We had pizza at Restaurant Gepetto Centro on Tuesday, August 5th. The pizzas were very poor: the base seemed to be pre-made (frozen?), the pizza was watery, and there were far too many toppings. An Italian restaurant would never use a pre-made base, the texture of the pizza should not be like a soggy pancake, and the amount of toppings should be very moderate. My pizza had what seemed like an entire can of mushrooms dumped on it, including all the liquid, without draining. We cannot recommend the restaurant to anyone, at least not for the pizza. Nuestra experiencia en Gepetto fue sencillamente memorable. Desde el primer momento, el trato humano marcó la diferencia: Valeri nos atendió con una atención impecable, cercana y profesional, logrando que cada detalle estuviese cuidado. Como anfitrión, Santi transmitió esa calidez y pasión por la buena mesa que convierte una cena en una verdadera vivencia gastronómica.

La cocina de Gepetto es un homenaje al producto de calidad y a la tradición, pero con un toque de creatividad que sorprende. Cada plato salió perfectamente equilibrado en sabor, textura y presentación, dejando claro que aquí se cocina con cariño y conocimiento. Los puntos de cocción, las combinaciones de ingredientes y el mimo en los emplatados hicieron que cada bocado fuese un auténtico deleite.

La experiencia se completó con un ambiente acogedor y elegante, que invita tanto a disfrutar en pareja como en grupo. Se percibe en cada rincón la filosofía de Gepetto: hacer sentir al comensal como en casa, pero con la excelencia de la alta cocina.

Y para rematar la velada… un Amaretto. Porque si la comida fue espectacular, el final fue de película: dulce, suave y con ese puntito alegre que me hizo salir del restaurante pensando que Gepetto no solo cocina bien, también sabe cómo ponerle “final feliz” a la historia. 🍹😄
