La Xerrada — Restaurant in Girona

My partner and I have been this place via The Fork application. Based on an opitiom showing on Google we decided to give it a go. We could not have chosen a worse place to dine in. First of all, we were served a wine in which we found several floating bugs. I understand that mistakes happened. However it is not acceptable to serve a cold chicken, over salted meat (we all know for what reason people add extra salt to the food, aw gross). The main dish, which was recommended by the waiter, was UNEATTABLE. This is the first time in my live when I decided not to pay for the food served. On top of that, waiter said 'cold? Maybe' and offered to exchang the chicken and the door to the kitchen wasn't closed and I SAW HIM PUTTING THE NEW CHICKEN INTO THE MICROWAVE. I regret spending each second of my time in this place. And paying for my drinks and goat cheese salad (which was the only thing acceptable in this 4.5star restaurant). Cannot look at these pictures without drooling… Owner Aziz probably has the best food I’ve tried in Spain, and it was my 7th visit and 9th city. Also, he is very friendly guy. You can see that he truly loves his job and put a lot of effort into it. A lot of locals come to his place and for me it is usually the best recommendation, when the place is beloved by local community. Highly recommend to eat at this restaurant more than once to try out different things they have! I will be eating there for sure during my next trip to Girona, sad that I discovered this place so late and didn’t have a chance to try...

This place was amazing! The food was excellent as expected, but the experience was top notch. I was travelling to Spain for a trip so this restaurant was definitely a highlight. We were essentially the only customers in the restaurant, with a couple of locals. The waiter/bartender was soooo friendly and made the experience amazing. We had some local shots with him and the others and they even played D'esposito with Justin Bieber, because we said we were from Canada. I also forgot my bag there, and the waiter drove all the way to find us and gave it back. Was one of the most memorable parts of our trip....
