The Pont de les Peixateries Velles, also known as the Eiffel Bridge, is a charming and iconic landmark in Girona, Spain. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the same engineer behind the Eiffel Tower, this bridge stands out with its striking red lattice structure. Built in 1877, it spans the Onyar River, connecting the old town with the modern city.

One of the most captivating aspects of the bridge is its intricate metalwork, which is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The vivid red color of the bridge contrasts beautifully with the pastel-colored buildings lining the riverbanks, creating a picturesque scene that is perfect for photography. The bridge offers stunning views of the river and the surrounding architecture, making it a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.

Visitors often appreciate the bridge’s historical significance and its role in Girona’s urban landscape. It’s not just a crossing point but a piece of art that adds to the city’s charm. The bridge is also conveniently located near many of Girona’s other attractions, making it an easy addition to any sightseeing itinerary.

Overall, the Pont de les Peixateries Velles is a must-visit for anyone exploring Girona, offering a blend of history, beauty, and...

Stepping onto the Pont de les Peixateries Velles is like entering a living museum of 19th-century innovation. Designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1877, this elegant bridge showcases his pioneering approach to iron architecture. Its intricate latticework and enduring design are not only a testament to advanced engineering but also a striking piece of art that enriches the urban landscape.

Walking along the bridge, you’re treated to scenic views that merge the historic charm of the old fish market area with the modern vibrancy of the city. The interplay of light on the iron structure—especially during sunrise or sunset—creates a captivating atmosphere that’s perfect for photography enthusiasts and history...

The Eiffel bridge is build by the same person who later built the Eiffel tower in Paris a few years later. It's a simple design and ahead of it's time. The bridge isn't that nice (two stars), certainly not elegant nor does it blends well with the rest I'd the buildings along the river. It even blocks your view when you take pictures on the bridge. But the view is the best (five stars) along the river to get a great view if the colourful buildings and the cathedral in the background. Not to be missed when you...
