Betula Nana — Restaurant in Granada

Possibly the best dining experience we’ve had in all of Spain (noting we prefer smaller local eateries to Michelin stars). The restaurant itself is central, close to the cathedral but away from the busier tourist streets. The setting is lovely, with some nice touches but unpretentious, with half a dozen tables and a small open kitchen. The chef is fantastic - every dish was unique and so well put together. There was a choice of 4 starters and 5 mains (plus a special) and between 5 of us we tried 7 dishes and loved every one of them. Washed down with some very nice godello and a decent ribero with the divine beef tataki. Desserts were also tasty. Service was excellent and price very reasonable for the quality. Wow! Betula Nana offers a delectable array of dishes that highlight the talents of the chef. Although everything we tried was delicious, my favorites were the plated bacalao and bacalao ceviche. The flavors are balanced perfectly and the freshness of the ingredients stands out in every bite. You also can’t leave without trying dessert; all three cakes we tried were amazing. The service is also extremely kind and attentive and it was wonderful talking with our waitress. The ambience of the restaurant is also perfect for a family meal or a more intimate dining setting; the high ceilings and decorations add a nice touch to the locale. One of my new favorites in Granada.

The perfect culinary experience. I came here with my partner's family who are all Granada natives and we had a fantastic time. We tried 5 different dishes: ceviche, mazamorra, carrillera, bacalao and atún, all of which were superb; full of flavour and good portions too. The waitress were incredibly kind and welcoming. We also tried the two desserts on offer that day, the tiramisu and the chocolate cake, both of which where delicious. The restaurant itself is small with just a handful of tables, and this created a very cosy, intimate experience. Come here if you want to try a more creative style of Spanish cuisine.
