It breaks my heart because I had decent expectations of this restaurant but it would appear that I made a mistake circling the area trying to find Lemon Rock in a random back alley street because in the end, the ‘Rock’ part of the name failed to deliver. Don’t get me wrong, I found the staff to be courteous and professional, very welcoming. But in two and a half hours that I was there, there was not a single rock song that was played, no live rock music, nothing. Admittedly, I wanted the experience of going to a rock cafe/ bar in Granada and have a nice drink listening to my favorite style of music.
Had Lemon Rock presented itself as just another establishment, respectfully, I would have went elsewhere to find the ambience that I was looking for. But for gods sake, ROCK was in their name, and the reviews said they played great rock music…but when I got there, there was no rock music at all. Guys, you can’t have ‘Rock’ in your name, and promote yourself as a rock bar, and NOT play any rock music, in the two and a half hours that I was there. Like not even one song.
When I asked two different bartenders where the rock music was, they essentially laughed at me. Take the rock out of your name, you are not a rock bar, you wish you were. Your ambience sucks.
If you like rock music and looking for a place you can chill and have a drink listening to any form of rock, don’t come to this bar. The name is...
Read moreFor me, Lemon Rock Hostel is the perfect place to stay: they've got great live bands and great djs playing everything from blues to garage rock - all great quality musicians. I got a drink and dinner or desert there most nights for my 8night stay and I really liked the crowd: hip, alternative and some are friendly, but it's not a place to make friends easily. I think this hostel should come with a warning that there is noise till 2-3am every night, so if you're a light sleeper that may be tough. Also, if you're more of a pop music fan - probably not the place for you, if you do stay there please don't play despasito or anything 'hot hits' like in the room - respect the venue and your roomies - if you've got an obscure surf rock playlist, sure. The only thing I would complain about was that there's no guest kitchen - I prefer to cook my own food, luckily the food at the bar was excellent with plenty of vegetarian options so I ate well but spent more than normal, would have appreciated at least a fridge and a kettle. All the interiors are pinterest level decorated, the courtyard setup is amazing and I totally appreciated it from a design perspective. The staff are so nice, all spoke ample English, they tollerated my crappy Spanish attempts and service was great. I'm so stoked I...
Read moreSimply a joke. The waiter that attended us, the rasta man, was needed to be called to come and attend us despite he was 3 meters away, having saw us since we sat 10 minutes before but did't feel like bothering with coming and doing his job. Then, he came and I started to tell him that I wanted one glass of wine, he looked at me rude and he said, in spanish, "en espanol". Then, he bowed his head as if nothing had happened. After we ordered, we had to wait 30 minutes and one of the drinks still didn't come. So, despite against our will, we had to call him again to hear us say, in spanish, something like "yeah yeah, its coming". After we drank, we wanted to pay, and he never showed up. So we went to the cashier to pay, and, he put the check with their plastic holder in our hand while he issued the card payment. He didn't even worry about taking it back or to tell us what to do with it. He just didn't care to have a respectful attitude towards the clients. I don't know how it is possible for such a bad service could be acceptable in this city, I never experienced something like this before....
