Never going there again. In the past, I have always been pleased with the way staff have treated me and found them helpful and friendly. Each year I come to Granada for two weeks' holiday and I have eaten and drank in the Casa Colon many times either alone or with friends. No more. I found a nice table tonight by the river. I sat down ready to order and was looking forward to my meal especially as I had been walking and was tired and hungry. I was told, by a male waiter who smirked irritatingly at me and was clearly on a "I'm the boss" mission, to move to an inferior table as I was alone. Nefasto, no se puede catalogar de otra manera el servicio que he recibido esta noche en Casa Colón. Ya desde la entrada, al igual que en la inmensa mayoría de establecimientos pues ya no existen los profesionales, los camareros te prohíben literalmente que te sientes en este lugar o aquel y te tratan como a ovejas de un rebaño que deben situar en su lugar. Luego, tras mucho tiempo esperando un plato, un nuevo camarero, me contenta con un, ya está por salir... pero eso no sucedió en mucho tiempo, tras el que vuelvo a reclamar de nuevo al primer camarero, que con la misma actitud chulesca me dice que hay mucha gente, muchos platos y que hay que esperar. A lo que contesto que no es normal y que incluso hay clientes que ya pagaron y llegaron después que nosotros... su respuesta es con más excusas como que el plato hay que cocinarlo, etc. A todo ello contesto que no he venido a discutir y que me dijera si me iba a sacar el plato y que si no, que me trajera la cuenta. Al momento vuelve, actitud chulesca subida de tono, diciendo que el responsable dice que si quiero pagar, que me trae la cuenta y que si no, que nos invita. No, no he venido a que me inviten, por favor traiga la cuenta que nos vamos. Pues si, vuelve esta vez con dos platos iguales al pedido, pero se va a la mesa contigua, que ya habían tomado una entrada, y tras ponerles su plato vuelve a nuestra mesa y nos deja el nuestro "por aquí unas costillitas".... y semarcha. Descuadrado!!!, miro a mi pareja y decidimos dejar el asunto así y comer sin más conflicto y sin estropear más la cosa. Pero la actitud chulesca aún no había acabado, vuelve el camarero con el platillo de la cuenta, de las bebidas, y la deja sobre la mesa diciendo..."y si quieren pagar, ahí está" alejándose rápidamente de la mesa.... Dejo un billete que cubre con creces la cuenta que me pasó y al salir le digo al camarero de la barra que allí les quedó el pago, a lo que me contesta, estando nosotros ya casi en la calle, que se lo alargara hasta la barra... Por Dios, es servicio de mesas, lo cobran, al igual que cobran muchas otras cosas o servicios que hoy en día cobra todo el mundo, pero que en raros establecimientos se da o se presta. Nefasto y vergonzoso el servicio, y penoso, muy penoso como la profesionalidad en todos y digo todos los oficios, se ha perdido. Camarero ya es cualquiera con geta, venga de los marines, venga de la universidad más prestigiosa... Nos han estropeado la noche, cosa que difícilmente podrán restituir, pero estoy seguro de que ni siquiera se lo plantean.... Casa Colon is near the Plaza del Humilladero in the heart of the city. The decor inside features white walls with wooden accents. The venue is lively and bustling. It feels like a place where most locals come to relax and socialise. The service is excellent. We were attended to by Fuensanta, who treated us superbly. She took our orders and ensured the tapas choices were brought to us promptly. The drinks are superb, and they also serve gluten-free beer as a bonus.
