I've been to this place four times in the last 6 weeks and I need to say the food was really good (that's why I kept going back). They have different options for breakfast and a variety or juices and smoothies.
I used to work myself in hospitality and always understand that things can sometimes get messy when it's busy and that staff are sometimes under pressure but with this place I never saw a friendly smile or any appreciation towards their customers. No matter how much stress there is, a friendly smile doesn't cost anything and doesn't take any time, that's the least that i think is expected in a customer service environment.
For me and the other members of our group who joined me it was the service that was very poor and disappointing. I came with bigger groups (15 people, 10 people and 7 people) and I always felt we were disturbing by trying to give them business. We never made a fuss or complained and kept returning, (even as things didn't work well every single time) but after our last visit, it was enough.
It was always an uncertainty if we were going to get a table as they didn't want to reserve a table for us. This is a big problem and very stressing if you organise events for groups of people and want things to be well organised and go smooth. I never knew until last minute if there will be a table available or not. For that reason I always came 30 min earlier to make sure I can get a table for my group. Last time I left my jacket on a second small table to hold the table for my group of 10 people but was told that I can't do this as the owner will loose business from one gentleman who wanted to sit on the table. It was a clear message that our 10 people business didn't seem to be important to the owner as much as the one persons business did. My group arrived at 10am and finally at 10:30am, after everyone waited 30 min, we did get a table.
We also had, on every occasion we came, the problem that some things, that were ordered, were either not served or served wrong. It's a shame because, if the service would be more friendly and professional and it would be possible to reserve a table, I would love to carry on coming every couple of weeks with groups for this lovely breakfast. But now I'm going to have to look for a different breakfast place in Granada who is more interested in our business and gives better...
Read moreI'm sorry to give you a low score. But I want to write down my true feelings. I came here because of the high score. There were a lot of people queuing. But the tables were dirty. If the store needs to do business, they can hire someone to clean or really clean it carefully. The price of food is the same as in Germany. The waiting time is really long. I personally think the food is average. In addition, if the guests pay the bill, I don't want to see the store owner's dissatisfied expression. We are here to travel, not to see other people's faces. I also hope you bring cash. This is the first time I have seen a business that requires cash payment in Spain for so long. We are really disappointed with this store. The service of Ys** across the street is much better. We were very unhappy when we came out of this store, so we went to the shop next door have another meal. I think as a tourist, it is more reliable to go to the old store .
We know how difficult it is to run a store. But if you ignore the feelings of customers in order to make money, I think it's a pity.
That's all.
………………………………….
As we thought about it for a long time after seeing the merchant's reply.
So here we leave our true thoughts.
The reason why we mentioned the shop opposite. First, because there are also only two service staff in the shop, and they are both elderly. But we don't need to wait for service at all. Second, the service staff is very kind. Although we don't speak Spanish, the uncles and aunts who serve don't speak English. Third, they also use fresh ingredients. But there is no arrogance. Instead, they are very kind.
We didn't see the merchant any apologize for the table's mess and unclean dishes were placed on the bar, but made excuses for their service mistakes one by one.
We have been to many family shops in around the world. But from cleanliness, to service attitude, to price, they should complement each other.
If you think you are as a service industry, we don't think that merchants have any reason to make excuses for the real evaluation of customers.
Please note that we are talking about service, but you understand that we are talking about price.
I'm sorry that our reply here only sees the arrogance of the merchant and the low requirements for their own...
El Huerto San Antón Breakfast & Brunch is located in a truly pleasant area in the center of Granada, on C. San Antón. Although it’s very close to some of the city’s busiest spots, like the Puerta Real area, it sits on a quieter, more peaceful street—perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. It’s easy to reach and an ideal stop if you’re exploring the city but looking for a calm moment away from the crowds. The wide selection of food and drinks is impeccable and high-quality, just like the service. We visited as tourists and don’t really speak the language, but they were incredibly kind and patient with us. In terms of value for money, this place is excellent, and I can confidently recommend it to all brunch lovers—especially those curious about local flavors. I personally had a “bocadillo andaluz” sandwich, a freshly squeezed orange juice, and a matcha latte. Honestly, if I had to find something to critique, it would probably be the matcha latte—but everything else was so delicious that I quickly got over it. The service was quick and attentive. Highly recommended—if you’re in the area, don’t miss this little gem. :)
