This restaurant was a recommendation so we booked in advance and were very much looking forward to our meal. On arrival it took at least 15 minutes before we were even asked for drinks which was the early warning sign. We watched various tables around us receive the wrong drinks orders then food orders all being whisked away and distributed around the restaurant. The staff were in complete disarray and clearly hugely understaffed for the service. Eventually what we thought was our Paella was put next to us for serving, then whisked back up and disappeared! They had brought us the wrong one and we were told the right one was on its way. We ordered a seafood & lobster paella and when it eventually came it was more like a jumbo prawn, I kid you not there was probably more meat on two prawns! the seafood was two mussels, that's it! Very very poor in quality and quantity. Our plates were empty and the rest of our paella was on a table across the restaurant, I had to plate it up myself like a buffet as there was not a waitress in sight. Our kids wanted a desert but they'd have fallen asleep by the time it arrived so we could not wait to pay up and leave. When asked if everything was good I replied "not at all" and before I could elaborate the reply was "perfect" as the waitress walked away. Honestly, you couldn't make it up and the only amusing part of the evening. Lost in translation I'm sure but summed up the evening, awful. I felt sorry in a way for the staff as they couldn't handle it and clearly needed help. Needless to say we will...
Read moreI recently visited a restaurant in El Medano that had a truly breathtaking sunset view. The restaurant is located right on the beach, and the view of the sun setting over the horizon and Montaña Roja was absolutely stunning. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special meeting experience with a spectacular view.
The drinks at the bar were expertly crafted and delicious. The bar had a great selection of cocktails, beers, and wines to choose from, ensuring there was something for everyone.
One of the best parts of the experience was the atmosphere. The bar had a "chiringuito terrace" or beach club, relaxed vibe that was perfect for watching the sunset. There were plenty of outdoor tables and chairs, and the warm sea breeze made for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were knowledgeable about the drinks menu and happy to make recommendations based on our preferences. They also made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our drinks and the sunset view.
Watching the sunset at this bar was an unforgettable experience. The colors of the sky as the sun sank below the horizon were breathtaking, and it was the perfect backdrop for enjoying a delicious drink with friends or loved ones.
Overall, I would highly recommend this bar to anyone looking for a relaxed and enjoyable sunset-drinking experience in El Medano. The quality of the drinks, the stunning views, and the welcoming atmosphere all make for a must-visit...
Read moreI've been there three times and the best was when we had g&t s outside. That was nice and beautiful. But both dinners were very disappointing and the atmosphere too. Very pretentious a lot of effort with the presentations. But really cheap ingredients. First time I had seafood pasta. It was a huge pile of spaghetti fried up with oil and some garlic (no sauce at all) and a couple of prawns and 4 mussels on the top, some other bits too but it was just on the top. Basically tasteless pasta. Others at the table ordered seabass and by the time it all got served (for some reason they bring the fish as it is and start deboning it in front of you) that all took ages and some people were already finishing their meal whilst others just starting. Starting eating obviously quite cooled down food after all. Second time I had an entrecote and it was nothing special similar to the ones you get in cheaper basic restaurants in town. The wine list is rather short but there are some nice Canarian whites. The waiters don't know / understand wine to give you an advise. Also the first impression when we entered it was smelking of smoke as lots of people were smoking outside and the wind that was coming from that side was pulling the smoke in. But it's full of tourists who just enjoy the view and the waiters all speak English and more "European" atmosphere - but for me it's not a place to eat nice food and enjoy lively atmosphere. To have a pre dinner drink...
