We booked a table for 4 at Gema's last night as it was recommended to us. We had a wonderful experience here with food that was tasty and well presented.
For starters, I had Nachos which had a lovely beef chilli on top. I could have eaten the chilli as a dish, it was so good.
For main, I chose a 300g Sirloin Steak. The thing I loved about this was the steak being laid out on a hot stone. It was slightly cooked when brought to the table then you carry on cooking it to your liking. The rub that was on the steak added a beautiful flavour to the meat and I opted for a baked potato and peppercorn sauce to accompany it which were excellent. My son opted for a bacon and cheese burger and said it was one of the best he'd ever had. I tried a bite of it and have to say I agree.
For desert, the cheesecake was a must try for me and was the first time I've had this served hot. Whilst a bit different to how I've always eaten it, I actually really enjoyed it. There was a strawberry sauce in a jug with a couple of squirts of whipped cream either side.
The service was excellent and staff were friendly and attentative offering a small drink at the end...
Read moreAfter reading recommendation about the place and the food on the hot stone I wanted to and try it out. I sat outside and there was only one other table. Not really sure if this is an argentina style steakhouse or Mexican. Most starters was Spanish and very over priced compared to other restaurants in Rojales, Quasada and Gurdamar. Pan con aioli was 4,90€ most places its 3€ or less. I ordered chicken Fajitas served on sizzling hot stone. Was very surprised when it was served in a bowl. No salsa and the guacamole was not home made. Asked the waiter about the hot stone and the reply was that people only like to cook steak on the stone so they only do it by request. How should a new customer know this? Then she explained it was made on the stone in the kitchen, but again how can I be sure😂 Replace the wording with “prepared on sizzling hot stone” if you don’t serve it on a hot stone. The Fajitas was tasteful but I was disappointed in the overall experience. Steaks was also very over prices compared the real Argentine steak houses...
Read moreDon't bother... Both times we've gone they've been less than accommodating to the fact we're a party of 6 - 2of which were children! Two years back they grumbled about getting us a table when they were in fact empty and we were THE only diners throughout the evening, providing us with a freezing cold space in their outdoor area in the middle of February(the food was alright I have to say) and then again tonight, reluctant to push a 2and a 4 table together for us an hour after we popped in to book and they were yet again empty. Needless to say, we walked out and didn't bother this time as clearly they didn't want our money and we were certainly not going to be beholding for the 'joy' of dining with the hot stone. Clearly this is someone who doesn't want to make their business work nor has heard of the catering industry's mantra of keeping the customer satisfied. We kept our money and spent it in a much more deserving, local establishment who were more than happy to go above and beyond for the customer...
