The Med Bistro & Bar closed 6 th January till Saturday 17th — Restaurant in Guardamar del Segura

I went there with my wife and two friends. We arrived at 16.40 and requested a table for four people. We were told that all the tables outside were reserved but we could sit indoors. Disappointed, we agreed but then to be told a table (number 46) was available outside. All was fine until the sun started shining on our table and it started to get extremely hot and uncomfortable. We kept moving our table until there was nowhere else to go. Now we know why this table was available! At the end of the meal, we requested the bill and also if we could speak to the owner. (The bill was paid at 18.38) Brian, the owner came over to us and firstly we praised him for the lovely food and the friendly staff, then we explained to him the issue we had with the table. We explained he must have known that the table we given, would be in the sun, yet there were tables reserved but people turning up until 19.30 and 20.00. Brian's answer was "this is Spain" and he did not know that table 46 was in the sun although he had been at this property for many years. Our point to Brian was although these tables were reserved, he could have asked how long we intended to stay and therefore could have given us a table in the shade but no, instead he told us not to return to his restaurant again. We asked him if it meant that we were banned to which his answer was "YES". It's a shame as we were only trying to give constructive feedback but Brian did not appreciate it. I'm also now aware that we are not the first to be banned and will not be the last....

Just want to give our experience. Was not happy with our food or service yesterday. 19/09/25. 8 o clock we arrived sat inside ordered 2 starters nachos were ok had better but ok. My sister had stuffed cheese mushrooms and they were in a liquid broth. They were disappointing to say the least. No taste and swimming in juices .. awful. Then my sister ordered a pizza which was frozen definitely super market bought!! disgusting and for the price not ok!!! My salad was a joke ceaser salad lettuce and chicken sauce on side not nearly enough sauce. My husband’s curry no taste .. and the chips were Frozen not cooked properly drenched in grease. We had to go the bar 3 times to get our own drinks staff were down the back never came near us once. We got cocktails and they were lovely to be fair .. probably best part about the place. Decor is fab and pub looks great but a let down Very bad experience.. Edit to the reply. Was actually being nice but since you checked the cameras you will see that my brother in law had to get up him self , to change his drink as the ingredients was wrong , he also had to get up to get cutlery so if you checked the cameras we had to get up 3 times. That Pizza wore frozen I had better from the supermarket. The base was was an inch thick. Your staff hadn’t a clue if you check your cameras you will see how long it took to put the order in. Your staff came no where near us as we were waiting for drinks and couldn’t signal them down. But look we won’t be back...

Went to The Med on 2 occasions for light Tapas in the evening. Sat outside in the evening sun. The outdoor seating area is quite small and close to the road and a roundabout but the inside area is spacious. Some attempt has been made to create privacy by the use of planting. We chose the Hummus, the king size Garlic prawns unshelled, and the chorizo from the Tapas menu, served with pitta bread. We ordered a basket of crusty bread in addition. All three dishes were delicious and authentic. I didn't much care for my glass of house white wine but my friend's red wine was nice. The service was good and staff were friendly.
