Food 4/5 Service 1/5
Almost walked out of this place, because of our first interaction with the server. It had good reviews so I stayed to try the food. 1 star on service only because the owner's son was pleasant. Server in the black and white t-shirt was rude/arrogant.
As we walked up to the place, the server at the patio stopped us at the entrance and told us to wait (lunch rush), no problem at all. After briefly waiting. He mumbled something about "you might not be able to find a seat". My partner and I looked at each other in confusion, as half the restaurant was empty inside. We gave him an incredulous look, he kind of back paddled and told us to go in to the restaurant.
We go in, I mumble to my partner "Can you find a seat?" again, half the restaurant was empty inside. I chalked it up to the server having limited English. Turns out the server spoke English fairly well. He checked up on us once afterwards, and brought us the bill but the gentleman (who I believe is the owners son) dealt with us mostly.
Staying in Ibiza for 6 days, I sprained my ankle so can't move around much. Will not go back because of that initial first impression. They made us feel second class the second we walked up there. It appears they're quick to judge an individual... Which is ridiculous because they're in the bloody service industry.
Got the salmon, hake, and goat cheese salad. All good. Hake was a little heavy on the salt, but cooked well. Bill came to 50 Euro for two (with two beers). Still tipped, but I hope it all doesn't go to that impolite server.
Again, if you don't speak Spanish/dress designer. Expect to get treated second class.
To to the pizzeria next door, food is around the same level of quality, but when we went they didn't half half the items we tried ordering lol. Nonetheless, the server treated us like a...
Read moreAvoid at all costs unless you just want a drink. Called here after reading the reviews, good and bad!! Wished we’d just left after looking at the menu. First thing, we were shown to a dirty table Secondly, both waiters were very disinterested. Thirdly, when we asked what came with some of the dishes we were just told ‘potato’, there is no description of what come with each dish which we found very strange!! The starters were very average with the mussels being quite chewy. I’d put my used knife and fork on the plate and these were just put back on the table for my main!! It all went real bad when the mains arrived, the sea bass my partner ordered still had some of its guts inside it and my monk fish was so rubbery I couldn’t cut it and I’m being serious. At this point we couldn’t eat what we’d been given and certainly didn’t want an alternative so we paid and left.
Reading all the good reviews I have to say we either got them on a really really bad day or someone they know has written them, there is a lot of truth in the bad reviews as our experience shows. If you just want a beer and some fries I’m sure you’ll be fine, anything more then that I would...
Read moreMy friends and I spent 10 days in Ibiza this summer and had the good fortune of discovering this gem on our second day. We kept going out of our way to go back every day for at least one of our meals.
While Paco's octopus was easily the best I've ever eaten, and everything else we had - the paella, the calamari, the ham and eggs breakfast, the chicken soup for the hangovers - was absolutely delicious, it was Jose Antonio and Maria's warmth and authenticity that really kept us coming back. My friends and I felt like we were hanging out at our favorite uncle and aunt's living room. They embody hospitality at its most honest core, and the memories we made there will last a lifetime.
Note to everyone who wrote a bad review: This is a family-run restaurant, not a tourist hole. The staff is not obligated to like you, or speak your native tongue, or be in a good mood that day for that matter. Be respectful and treat them like you'd like someone to treat your mom and dad at their cozy restaurant, and you will likely enjoy yourself an...
