My wife and I had arranged to meet old friends, who were in Ibiza the time as us. I looked on the internet and read great reviews about El Passadis. I booked through 'The Fork' a month or so in advance, and process was very easy.
The setting is really nice, in the old part of Ibiza Town. There were no 'normal' menus. Rather, it was written in Italian on a chalkboard attached to the wall, which was quite difficult to see. The waiter immediately started to rapidly work his way down the menu, describing each dish, but by the time we had worked out what he was doing, we had missed many of the descriptions. There was no wine list. The waiter asked us what type of wine we would like. No prices, either. We all found this process confusing, and it certainly didn't feel very relaxing. It felt like we were being controlled by the waiter, rather than us being treated as customers.
The food, some was fine, some was poor. For starters, one of us ordered the anchovies, which consisted of 5-6 anchovies with a sauce. This was more of an appetiser than a starter. I ordered the chicken tempura which didn't arrive until the others had just about finished theirs. When I brought it to the attention of the waiter that I hadn't received my starter yet, he was extremely dismissive and immediately continued to chat with people at another table. The chicken tempura was served with a sweet chilli sauce, and was nice enough. All of the starters were quite small.
For the mains, several of us ordered the beef entrecote. It arrived unseasoned, with a couple of pieces of sliced potato, no sauce. It was one of the toughest cuts of meat I've ever had. My wife didn't finish hers.
All in all, it was poor, strange and very disappointing. I would definitely not recommend...
Read moreThis place is terrible I would not recommend it. They only have a menu written on a chalk board and no English translation so you have to guess what is what. Then you're offered a drink but they don't show you a drink menu you again just have to guess. Then I asked what the items on the menu were and with conclusion of only getting pork belly for one dish out of him we chose the pork belly. The steak tartare was ok but not much flavour and then the main was soo small and was only the pork belly on its own. Alongside not being worth the 110 euros this cost me the service was terrible and I felt they didn't know what they were doing and felt like they were watching us the whole time because they stand in the street staring. Over all this was not worth the money and wasnt even the experience you expect for the price and all together was only about 45 mins of...
Read moreWe definitely not suggest BABAGANOUSH since it's not the real one and not more than a roasted eggplant. Tartar with truffe was not delicious too. When we told them our opinion they didn't meet it with tolerance and their face suddenly changed and was not pleasant. They offer limited options for glass of wine and they force you order a bottle. Though the wine offered by the waitress was good and we liked but overall it's not recommended considering prices, taste and the attitude of the staff. There were two guys who were obviously the friend of the owner or the stuff sitting next table and staring at us without any reason. It felt uncomfortable. Later they changed their place and sat on the stairs of the building across with the staff. It was a bad experience. Probably the worst...
