I have recently had 2 very good meals at Mar y Cel restaurant. The setting overlooking the beach and the views of Formentera are an added plus. The first was a traditional seafood paella which we shared. The amount of seafood and fish was quite surprising. Many paellas are mainly rice with a a few prawns, not here. The flavours were amazing. A dish obviously laboured over. The second meal I had was the Dorada. They cook it over a BBQ (I'm told) and it was fantastic. Very well cooked, moist meat, crispy skin, very flavoursome. One of the things I hate about ibiza is that there are a plethora of restaurants which charge exorbitant prices for food which is just OK. This is fuelled by tourists which, I guess no fault of their own, just don't know any better. Mar y Cel is an exception to this. Good food, good prices in a nice atmosphere.

Went here on a friend’s recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. From the outside, it looks like a simple, unassuming bar-restaurant along the boardwalk of Sa Figueres — nothing flashy — but the food really delivers. I ordered the entrecot, which was cooked perfectly and served with a mushroom sauce on the side (a nice touch). It came with a grilled medley of vegetables and potatoes that was flavorful, hearty, and well-seasoned. Everything was delicious, filling, and paired beautifully with the seaside view. Overall, great value for the quality and location. A relaxed, local spot worth checking out if you’re in Ibiza and want good food at a fair price.

I recently visited this restaurant with high expectations, want to try some authentic Spanish cuisine. Sadly, the experience did not meet my expectations. I ordered the paella, which I was told was one of the best dishes in Spain, but it turned out to be disappointingly bland and contained a lot of small shell fragments that made eating an uncomfortable experience. I also tried the tapas, which were equally tasteless. As this was my first time trying Spanish food, I was left unsure whether the presentation was typical or not. While the location of the restaurant is excellent, the food was underwhelming and not what I had hoped for during my visit to Spain.

Reasonable prices and a very nice location, near the sea and in pedestrian area. We had lunch, I ordered spaghetti Bolognese which was average and the portion was medium to small. My husband ordered pizza Meat Feast, but he didn't get it, as they had some problem with the oven. He ordered a Mexican burger after that and he said it was average. The problem was that we waited for the food for too long and the staff didn't speak English, only Spanish, only one waitress could explain to us why we were waiting that much and that they couldn't make pizza. But, they apologized and didn't bill our drinks. I think they must do a little bit of communication with guests and must learn English, just the basic...

Ordered a simple scrambled eggs with feta cheese. Waited and waited and waited some more. Waiter casually tells me (after about 40 mins of waiting) that they must have given my order to another table, no apologies. Waited another 20 mins and tried to be philosophical about the situation, I stay patient and keep looking over, perhaps they will offer me drink or something…no! A puzzled waitress with 2 dishes then brings me one over but it's the wrong order, no apology, no awareness of how terrible the service is and embarrassing for me especially dining solo. After another 2 mins I finally lost patience and walked out. They couldn’t care less and made no attempt to address the situation....
