West Restaurant — Restaurant in La Línea de la Concepción

A friend back to Spain for a visit, so a group of us gathered at this new bar hoping for a lovely night with good food and beatiful site. Well, the night was not spent as desired at all. Despite very average level of food, here are the reasons why the ranking is as low as 1 star from me.

First thing first, there is not hand wash soap in the rest room, when I asked, the staffs there shows no sight of interest, just shrugged and told me there is no soap, making no gesture of offering substitute such as hand sanitizer, only after complaint to the manager, he brought up one bottle for us to clean hand before eating. Under COVID, this is totally unacceptable for hygiene and health standard reqirement in a catering business. Make me wonder if the staffs there ever clean their hands properly.

The waiters/waitresses there do not seems have previous working experiences in the catering service. Running arround like headless chicken and take no notice of the customer. 20 mins in the seat, no one come over to take the drinks order. During our meal, there are a few times waiters brought dishes over and asked us if we ordered them. Once got a 'NO' as the reply from us, they moved on to other tables looking for the rightful owner of these dishes, very unprofessional. A friend ordered a medium cooked pork as main but got it well done, so we asked for redo the dish, wow, the owner's bad attitude was totally unexpected, though he quickly turned around, but the damage is done, period.

Not to mention, they added not in stock beer on our bill later on and attemped over charge us on card.

In short, this bar will not on our recon list to friends or family in a million years. Don't waste money and time on average food and appalling service here. Because...

I'll start with the good- the view, the service Milagros was great, the meat was delicious cook perfectly, and the Banoffe as well! The sauce on the potatoes was delicious. The less good part - we got 2 glass of wine that was literally hot! But they changed it after we asked because it was impossible to drink, The cecina was OK, few pieces flew with the wind and the waiters still served it for us.. For 22 euros I expected the meat will be on bed of rucula and more Parmigiano and not just a bit (as seen in the pictures) .. I'll pass this dish next time. Another thing is the vegetables served with the meat doesn't go with the dish, they are more Asian style, I think they need to be replaced with Padron pepper. And last thing is the wind, when it's very windy you can't enjoy peacefuly at the terrace upstairs so sit downstairs if possible. So- very nice dinner, not sure if I'll be back as the menu have very limited option for myself but I'm sure everyone can find...

The one star given is for location. Right by the marina...... Wanted to go here for ages and finally got there last night, only to have a very disappointing evening. There is an outdoor area upstairs and thought it would be nice to have dinner there, it was a beautiful warm evening, but we were told 'drinks only, no meals taken up there'. So we sat in the glass walled restaurant downstairs and got very warm. We ordered our food but then was told it was not available - quite a lot of things were off the menu. No good quality beers. When we eventually managed to get some food it was not very nice at all. In fact it was horrible. The octopus was tough and the chicken 'balls' did not taste like chicken. A very expensive, disappointing experience, hence we shall not be going there again, even though we live just a few minutes walk away. Excellent location, but that is all it has...
