Restaurante Zerca Food — Restaurant in la Vila Joiosa / Villajoyosa

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and it has always been one of my top three in Villajoyosa, but sadly our visit last night was extremely disappointing.

The food, which was once consistently excellent, was very mediocre – bland really sums it up. Service was also poor. From the moment we sat down, the waitress was banging bottles behind the bar while cleaning shelves, which was noisy and distracting. That kind of work should be done outside of dining hours, not while customers are trying to enjoy their meal.

What shocked me most was that she then served both our main course and dessert while still wearing the same black latex gloves she had been using for cleaning. This felt very unhygienic and unprofessional. On top of that, her manner wasn’t particularly friendly.

Overall, the whole experience fell far short of the standard we’ve always enjoyed here. Such a shame, as this used to be a real favourite of ours in Villajoyosa. I really hope standards improve, because right now it feels like a different...

Fui para unas jornadas gastronómicas en junio de este año y no estuvo mal la comida, quizá iba con mucha expectativa, ya que me enteré de este restaurante por una clienta que me hablo muy bien, lo miré por Internet y me gustó el lugar, se veia muy bonito y acogedor, esperaba más nivel gastronómico, pero de nuevo repito no estuvo mal. Lo que si debo mencionar es la poca profesionalidad y simpatía de la camarera que por lo q me enteré luego es la encargada, ignoro su nombre, un mujer de unos 40 o más años, de complexión robusta.... nos acosaba repetidamente con su presencia para q nos diéramos prisa en terminar, a lo que añadía mala cara siempre q venia y no habíamos terminado, además que cuando uno de los dos que estábamos, terminaba, se llevaba el plato vacío sin esperar que el otro comensal terminará, a lo cual añado, que traía el siguiente plato sin que hubiese terminado el anterior. FATAL. También mencionar que le pedimos por favor si pueden bajar el volumen de la música que lo tenían muy muy fuerte y su respuesta es NO, PORQUE AHORA EMPIEZA EL TARDEO...Increíble! Gracias que un camarero un rato después se acercó para traer el postre, se lo pedimos a el y muy amablemente bajo el volumen de la música. Luego de tanta presión para que comieramos rápido y después de tomar el café, queríamos tomar un cubata y nos tuvo mas de media hora esperando, llamándola infinitas veces pero aún pasando al lado nuestro nos ignoró por completo, estaba claro que no queria atendernos, contamos con la suerte que llegó una camarera joven y muy amable que recibio turno y nos sirvió el cubata. En resumen la decepción que tuve de la comida por una gran expectativa creada, se había podido suplir con un excelente servicio, buena actitud y una sonrisa, que brilló por su ausencia en esta señora. Agradecer al camero y camarera joven que salvaron que está experiencia fuera de una sola estrella. Volver??? Booked, cancelled because of the red alert, called to check if we could still come because it wasn't raining so hard. I checked and said we are all the way in benidorm will there still be space for us when we arrive, was assured by the girl on the phone no worries come down whenever and there would be space for us. We arrived about an hour later with a toddler at 15:10 and were told the kitchen is closed and we should have come sooner. The website lists you as being open all day we wasted over an hour driving there and back. . Terrible...
