Ambiance

The ambiance at Ristorante Da Marc was good, but not particularly outstanding. The decor and atmosphere were pleasant, creating a comfortable dining environment, but it lacked that extra touch to make it truly memorable.

Service

The service experience was mixed. While the main staff was friendly, we were served by a new girl who seemed inexperienced and out of her depth. Additionally, the restaurant kept refusing clients, citing that they were "complet" despite many empty tables, likely due to a siesta break. This is understandable given the high temperatures of 30-35 degrees Celsius, but it was still a bit off-putting for potential customers.

Food

Wine: We initially ordered a bottle of rosé, which was out of stock. However, they quickly offered another type of rosé, possibly sourced from the nearby Spar, which felt a bit makeshift. Cheese and Bread Platter: This dish was well-presented and of very good quality. The cheese selection was delightful, though personal preferences might vary, earning a solid 4/5 for taste. The bread portion was slightly smaller than expected but still acceptable.

Value for Money

The price was reasonable given the quality and quantity of the food. It felt like a fair deal for what we received.

Highlights

The cheese and bread platter stood out as a highlight of the meal. The presentation and quality were commendable, making it a dish worth trying.

Room for Improvement

The main area for improvement is staff training. Ensuring all staff are well-prepared and knowledgeable would greatly enhance the overall dining experience.

Allereerst wil ik positief beginnen en eerlijk zijn. Het eten en de service waren top en erg lekker. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is ook erg goed, ik kan deze plek zeker aanbevelen voor de service en het eten.

De reden dat ik deze plek niet kan aanbevelen, is omdat ik met bancontact heb betaald, maar dit wordt twee keer in rekening gebracht. Het bedrag is dus tweemaal van de rekening gegaan. Allereerst heb ik ze een bericht gestuurd via Messenger, ik ging ervan uit dat dit een oprechte vergissing was. Ze boden aan om langs te komen in het restaurant en het zo op te lossen . Dit was niet mogelijk, omdat ik niet meer in de stad aanwezig was. Toen durfden ze ondanks mijn bewijs te beweren dat ik niet dubbel had betaald. Na heen en weer praten via messenger, boden ze aan om het bedrag terug te storten via BIZZ. Nu ken ik die app niet echt. Ik vertelde hen het bedrag terug te storten via een overschrijving en gaf hen nogmaals mijn rekeningnummer, blijkbaar is dit voor hen onmogelijk. Helaas blijft deze negatieve indruk de positieve zaken beïnvloeden.

Het bedrag was niet gigantisch, men liet me dan ook weten niet wakker te liggen van 15.00 Euro. Wat is het probleem dan? En ik geef ze ook gelijk, ik lig niet wakker van 15.00 Euro wel ben ik een principieel iemand die recht in zijn schoenen staat. Fouten kunnen gebeuren, maar als je ze niet oplost...

Conclusie als toerist kun je hier beter contant betalen dan had het niet kunnen gebeuren.

Ik wil graag benadrukken dat ik raar of zelden negatieve recensies schrijf, dit is zeker niet mijn stijl. Maar het is mijn enige verdedigingsmiddel. Ik heb ze meer dan 3 weken gegeven om dit te corrigeren.

De truc die hier wordt gebruikt, de storting is gedaan op 2 rekeningen, achteraf beweert men dat dit niet kan. Ik stuur later deze week ook een mail naar de Europese commissie om dit nader te laten onderzoeken.

Nogmaals ik sluit positief af het eten is lekker bediening is goed, maar betaal dus best cash.

Tot slot u mag de 15.00 Euro als extra fooi beschouwen, ik hoef ze al niet meer terug te hebben.

First of all I want to start positive and be honest. The food and service were top and i recoment to go here for good food! The value for money is also very good, I can definitely recommend this place for the service and the food.

The reason I can't recommend this place is because I paid with bancontact/Visa debet but it's charged twice. First of all, I messaged them via Messenger, assuming it was a genuine mistake. They offered to come over to the restaurant and sort it out. This was not possible, because I was no longer present in the city. Then, despite my proof, they dared to claim that I had not paid double. After talking back and via messenger, they offered to refund the amount via BIZZ. Now I don't really know that app. I told them to refund the amount by bank transfer and gave them my account number again, apparently this is impossible for them. Unfortunately, this negative impression continues to influence the positive things.

The amount was not huge, so I was informed not to lose sleep over 15.00 Euro. What's the problem then? And I agree with them, I don't lie awake with 15.00 Euros, but I am a principled person who is right in his shoes. Mistakes can happen, but if you don't fix them... Conclusion as a tourist it is better to pay cash here than it could not have happened.

I would like to emphasize that I write rarely negative reviews, this is definitely not my style. But it's my only defense. I gave them over 3 weeks to correct this.

The trick used here, the deposit is made on 2 accounts, afterwards it is claimed that this is not possible. I will also send an email to the European Commission later this week to have this investigated further.

Once again I conclude positively the food is tasty service is good, but it is best to pay cash. Finally, you can consider the 15.00 Euro as an extra tip, I don't need it back anymore. People can always contact me in private message and i wil send the proove.

As mentioned, this was a 5 star review. I previously wrote a review praising this restaurant as one of the best pizzas I have had, and even returning with my family from South Africa. This weekend, I went on holiday to Benidorm and had to return for the pizza.

The service has never been great, but this time it was SHOCKING! We went inside to ask for a table. We greeted the 2 hostesses, they didn’t even say hello. The first and only thing they said was NO! They didn’t say anything else, just shook their heads with a disgusted face. I was very disappointed to say the least, as I kept telling my friends how tasty the food was.
