It's a very small restaurant, perhaps 5 tables indoors, and a couple outside, practically on the kerb, which is not my idea of eating al fresco. But if you can't manage the short flight of steps up to the restaurant, this is a viable solution.
We had chicken satay, which was better than I'd expected although the sauce was too runny and didn't have enough peanuts. If you haven't tried the original satays in Singapore and Malaysia, you'll love this one here. We also had Kieo Tod, served with a sweet and sour sauce. Tasty.
The green curry wasn't creamy enough, it was just too watery. There were only a few pieces of meat, the rest of the space is occupied with vegetables.
The Pad Thai wasn't too bad at all; perhaps, it was a little too soggy.
Because authentic Thai food is nowhere to be found in Las Palmas, I will, no doubt, be back here again.
Edit 22/6/2024: Today I found the peanut sauce too sweet. And they put it in the Pad Thai, too, which sort of ruined it, especially it being sweet.
I'd advice the chef to be careful with sugar or they'll end up like the Chinese restaurants here. All sugar...
Read moreProper Thai Food. Try it. Book in advance. Authentic-tasting Thai food is not easy to find in the Canaries, or indeed much of Spain. The local palate isn't used to that level of heat and many of the ingredients aren't easy to import or grow locally - and there's only limited demand. So Kop Kun is a breath of somewhat fragrant fresh air. The owner is Thai though she speaks fluent English and Spanish. The chef is her Spanish husband who basically learnt all his Thai cooking from her. The food is exceptional and exactly as it should be - it's seriously impressive stuff.
As much as I love Canarian food and Spanish food, whenever I have visitors I also take them here because - it's just so good. In fact - my father visited in March and they were closed. I remembered the owner telling me she was taking her husband to Thailand for the first time (and for Songkran as well!). Looks like they're open again so I'll be back at Kop Kun...

2024 review Ordered the kapow pork (basil pork) and it was flavourful but the pork was dry and chewy and there was broccoli and carrots a very western feature which happens to even Thai food in tourist areas in Thailand. The moo thot kratiam (pork in garlic) was not as tender and also quite heavy oil and garlic. The Nam pla prik (fish sauce with chilli) was very good and usually eaten with the pork on garlic)
I did enjoy the food as the flavor was quite...
