If I decide to write a review, it is because the restaurant, food, and people who work there deserve and merit it 100%. This restaurant is not on the busy street. Off the beaten path. Classy, clean, and well designed. I was single, came and looked and left. They were very welcoming. When I came back, I didn't know if they remembered me. They were equally as courteous. I still only read the menu and did not decide completely. I ask always their thoughts between two dishes even though I know what I want to get. I took a picture of the menu since I forgot my glasses. I decided on the Japanese Red Tuna tartare. And then changed my mind to have it to go because I felt personally uneasy to eat alone. I know it is frowned upon in Spain. NOT A PROBLEM, they packaged it up with a smile. When I walked back to my hotel and had it. THE PRESENTATION just as if I had it at the restaurant. SERVICE 5 STARS ATMOSPHERE 5 STARS AND to the Chef de cuisine. 5 stars. Writing of the dish, composition, flavors, freshness, balance, and detail. 5 stars. Even after walking back. Super tasty delicious.
If you miss going to this restaurant, too bad for you. I would go back to taste another dish for sure Unfortunately I am touring so I had to decide wisely. One chance.
My dessert is to dream of next time having another dish and staying even though I am alone. They will surely make me feel like staying. Lupé the lonely happy...
Read moreMore on the side of 3.5 - first of all, service was amazing, such attnetion to detail and kindness is very much appreciated. However, considering the reviews, we might have had higher expectations. The tuna tartare was very tasty, but I'd never add mayonnaise sauce around, nor soya mayonnaise, nor wasabi mayonnaise. If thr tartare was touching the sauce decoration, the mayonnaise was just overtaking the taste and not in a good way. However, any wasabi soya mix separately, could be a good idea. The croquetas were ok, I felt there was too much flavor of truffels, but still ok taste. The tataki vegetables combo was my favorite, good quality fish, perfectly cooked. The octopus was more on chewy side, I'd prefer it much softer, which is basically the whole art of cooking perfectly. The apple-potato pure was very intersting, not my cup of tea, but this is more according to everyone's taste, not to the qulity of the food. Considering all the above, I'd say the experience was rather ordinary, than impressive as I was set for which might have contributed to the disappointment. Yet, food was good. We also had the lemon sorbet with black vodka that was...
Read moreIf I could rate Lupé 10/5 stars, I would! This is a phenomenal restaurant in Las Palmas and, like many other reviewers, I went twice over the course of my stay in Gran Canaria. The food is absolutely delicious, generously portioned, beautifully plated, and reasonably priced. The wine selection is very lovely as well and also very fairly priced. The service too was impeccable - I didn't catch my server's name but he served me both evenings and was very attentive, fast, and had a very friendly attitude.
For my starter I had the arancini-style balls, for my mains I had the knifefish cannelloni (first night) and grilled octopus (second night), and for dessert both evenings I had the mango panna cotta with vanilla ice cream. All of it was superb! Recommend reserving...
