Restaurante O Sole Mio - La Puntilla — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Well, extremely dissappointed. Been to the island 5 years ago, and this was our favourite places to eat, for its delicious food and great ambience. Well now its more like quantity over quality.

Extremely packed, 3 waiters running, heavily breathing to serve everyone. Having sat 10 min without being given menus, and waited a good 5 minutes to get drinks menus. The prices are crossed out, so good luck figuring it out what you actually paying. Once the order been taken after 15-20 min wait we got our drinks, which were one of the worst ones. Long island, made with ice tea, completely vile taste, mojito completely flat, non fizzy at all, drinking sugar granuletas.

If you dont have staff working behind the bar and not sure about thing, dont do them!

Food, once called spanish omlette then favourite, now called broken eggs, were a broken dreams for me.. once crispy, now soggy potatoes, with varely any egg and some sausage.

Carbonara i wouldnt even go nearby it.. Ravioli was eatable, as probably it was shop bought. But they are on a pricey considering you get 6 pieces.

Now am sitting here over my empty plate 9 minutes while i wrote this review.

1st time in Gran Canaria and must say hospitality service across the board is not up to standard. for the first time i thought we could establish a really nice place to eat dinner and "stick to what you know" first 2 times out to eat here were lovely good service from the same waiter. 3rd times a charm we were unfortunately very unlucky as he was not there. orders were wrong service was so slow my food got cold waiting for my partners order to be rectified and served. requested chilli oil, got given ground pepper and oil seperate, as if to say "here just make it yourself" also ordered a sangria on day 1 was €4.50 tonight my Sangria came to €7.38? random number and i had a glass not 1/2 a litre. nobody took our plates, nobody asked if there was anything else we needed. after getting fed up of waiting partner went inside to pay so we could just leave and not have our evening ruined any further. honestly never going back which is unfortunate and tonight didnt see the nice waiter who initially served us twice, so we could finally give him a nice tip. This mounth we visited this place with my husband. I ordered a dish and mine was forgotten, so when we reminded them, they brought it, instead of rice in cream with mushrooms, it was with seafood, which I emphasized that I didn't want. but I agreed because I was the one who felt awkward because of their mistake, so if you are allergic to something, good luck. But all this was not enough, so I found a metal part in my portion, for which I only received a "sorry". Serving is done strictly in cracked glasses or pita, so good luck and with that. And I saw a cockroach in the women's toilet and the worst thing is that the toilet is close to the kitchen. I have a feeling of nausea even now that I am far from there. The price of the portions is as someone would say "you get what you pay for" but I don't agree with that, I don't expect royal treatment but...
