Tierras Juntas — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

We decided to eat something here, mostly because of the nice location and good looking menu. Not the best decision of our holiday, unfortunately.

We reserved a table at 19:15 and we're told that the kitchen would open 15 minutes later. No problem of course, we got our drinks and some nuts to fill the time. We ordered a bruschetta to share, a bufala pizza, a bambino menu and the rigatoni con guanciale.

The bruschetta took about 30 to 40 minutes to arrive and was nothing special, just some toasted bread with tomato and some molten mozzarella. The children's menu said on the menu: 'pasta pomodoro, coteletto alla milanese, patatas fritas ('fries' on the English menu) and a drink of choice'. We were never given the choice between one or another but received just the coteletto, soaking in grease and on the edge of being burnt, with some potato cubes. Not the fries which we promised our 4 year old... No sauce as well, the extra ordered mayonaise took about 15 minutes to arrive. The lime part looked as if it was grated first for whatever other dish and then just thrown on the plate.

The pizza took its sweet time, maybe 40 minutes after the bruschetta and kids dish. Luckily we just received our 2nd drinks we ordered 20 minutes ago... It was just a pizza Margherita with a cold mozzarella ball dumped on top of it. Not a leaf of basilicum or something else to add some flavor in sight. Very plain. I'm addition, the knifes were so blunt they would probably be allowed in prison, making cutting the pizza in slices a hell of a job. The rigatoni arrived 10 minutes after the pizza so something went quite wrong in the kitchen planning. Apparently that's not the only thing that went wrong because the rigatoni was undercooked, the guanciale not crunchy or tastefull at all, and the dish was soaked in oil. After 1/3 of a plate I couldn't continue eating this disappointment.

At the end when paying the bill we let the (very hard working) waitress know about our disappointment. Then the chef appeared, who was clearly not in the mood for making any apologies, and stated he cooks like this everyday since he was 14. Well, maybe he does, but never...

Duurste paella die we ooit gegeten hebben! We bestelden een paella voor de 2 personen maar om met 3 van te eten aangezien het anders veel te veel is. Op de menukaart stond niet vermeld of de paella €30 per persoon was of €30 voor 2 personen. Aangezien alle andere prijzen op de kaart aan de lage kant waren gingen we er vanuit dat het €30 voor 2 personen was. De paella was €30 per persoon en als klap op de vuurpijl hadden ze voor 3 personen aangerekend terwijl er duidelijk was gezegd voor 2 personen. €90 voor een paella voor 3 personen? Voor deze prijs lagen er 3 gambas op, een paar mosselen en een paar venusschelpen. Als ze dan toch zoveel vragen voor een paella, hadden we er veel meer van verwacht. Comimos aquí ayer por primera vez y nos encantó el lugar, pedimos pasta y un plato de sugerencias fuera de carta y la comida estaba fabulosa, tiene unas bonitas vistas y con un ambiente relajado y con mucho encanto. La atención de la chica y resto de personal que nos atendió de 10, da gusto cuando encuentras gente que te sabe recomendar y te atiende con una sonrisa....
