Gran Marina Suites — Hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

A great location and a really warm welcome. The owner was there as we arrived in the taxi and gave us his contact details and some advice about restaurants etc. I booked the top floor with the balcony. The place is really clean and with a useful stock of supplies in the bathroom including toothbrush, toothpaste, razor etc. I am used to a quiet place to sleep and there was a lot of traffic noise starting at 6am, most of this was blocked out by ear plugs so not so bad. I am not sure the owners could do much more to help block this out as the glazing and shutters were good. Maybe just some heavy curtains. The glow in the dark ceiling light may have been for fire safety but it was a bit bright. The air conditioning and blinds are easily controlled by a central control unit which is very useful. We also ran out of toilet paper on the last day, but as we were leaving there was no need for us to contact, just used the handy tissues available. A bit strange that there was a pepper pot but no pepper in it and they do not restock the coffee. Otherwise there appears to be everything you need to cook with, and great to cook on induction hob. There are shops very close by so you can stock up on food yourself very easily. The building is very secure and no need to worry about keeping a key as it's all keycode entry. The local busses are close by to get you into old town and around the island, they are also very cheap to use. The restaurant at the bottom of the apartment block is also very good. There is a food hall just meters from the apartment where you can relax and enjoy great local foods. In case you fancy something different there is an excellent Korean restaurant about 200 yards away. For a nice cocktail then try Gingers or Sunset Beach bar. Stayed for three nights with my husband and three year old son. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the beach, bars, restaurants and shops. Plenty of supermarkets nearby also to stock up on essentials for self catering. Our room was lovely, modern, spotless and equipped with all necessary facilities. Communication via WhatsApp was excellent; i had several enquiries leading up to and during our stay and Paula was amazing; replying promptly and going above and beyond to answer my queries and reassure me. The day before we checked in; I read a couple of reviews which complained that the rooms were completely open plan with no privacy for the shower and toilet. When I expressed concerns about this, Paula actually asked a colleague to send a video of our room so that we could make sure it was suitable before we arrived. The room was absolutely perfect; there is sufficient separation between the bathroom and the rest of the room, and the toilet is within a completely separate area with a door. The complementary toiletries and kitchen snacks provided were second to none. The bedding and towels provided were plentiful and of good quality. There was also a beach bag with two beach towels left in the room, nice touch! Every member of staff we came into contact with were warm, welcoming and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Would 100 per cent recommend, and we will definitely choose San Marina apartments again when we visit Las Palmas in the future. Thank...

We had one night stay in December 2024 there with twi adults and two small kids. This place was very nice and convenient. They placed some free stuff like water, coffee, tea, cacao and chips there although we didd‘t touched the chips as it was a ham flavour and we didn’t liked it. The kitchen is equipment with the rudimentary equipment you need on short stays during travel, this is very helpful especially if you are with kids, who might get hungry in the accommodation instead of during your restaurant visits. The apartment was very clean and the stuff we met during our arrival was nice and helpful. We had some requirements to store our luggage before the official check in time and after check out time, which was possible as the booking situation and the reception team allowed us to arrive earlier and leave later. The double bed was in fact two single beds and we had the issue that our kids were splitting them during the evening when they were sitting and playing on it. May be there is a way to fix them more strongly together.
