Sorry, but after trying countless restaurants from Lloret to Girona to Barcelona, this was one of our worst experiences. The food was definitely not good enough to justify it, too.
My mussels were sooo salty with no other flavor. They tasted very fishy too. The pasta was pretty bland with low quality ingredients Chicken soup came with almost nothing in it but broth Paella’s seafood was the least fresh I’ve had of all the many we’ve had in Spain Crab croquettes were ok but too much filler inside Service was sooooo slow. So slow that we got a parking ticket because we spent 20 minutes waiting for utensils, another 30 waiting for our food, another 20 for our check.
This is how service was:
Add on top, service was not friendly or nice.
There’s so much good pasta, paella, seafood croquettes, etc in Spain. There is zero need to come...
Read moreWe were greeted by a friendly older gentleman, who I think is the owner. Unfortunately the service got much worse after that. We asked for two dinner menus at 24 euros each. For the starter we chose the 5 tapas option, and when we asked the waitress what the tapas were, she said that we could choose any five we wanted. As we didn't know this before, we were looking at the list of tapas trying to decide which to choose. The waitress stood there and seemed impatient and annoyed when we asked any questions. I think if the customer isn't ready to order, common practice is to give them a few minutes, not make them feel uncomfortable. The tapas were ok, nothing special. The morcilla, chrizo and boquerones were very salty. A positive is that the portions were big. We had the seafood paella, which was good. We were very full and asked if we could have a carajillo instead of dessert and were told no, which is surprising because the price of the desserts was more expensive than a carajillo. Then we asked if we could have the dessert to go and were told we can have only fruit. If you can have fruit to go, why not a piece of cake? In the end my boyfriend had one coffee and that was it. They were not...
Read moreOur Spanish cruise dining experience was a bit disappointing, mainly because the tapas were excessively greasy—literally. For example, the jamón was drenched in olive oil, and we had to drain the oil off the meat. The shrimp in the salad came in some kind of store-bought sauce, and the calamari rings were mostly deep-fried batter with hardly any actual squid inside. The salad included unripe, hard avocado and canned tuna (though I knew about the tuna in advance because I asked). The potatoes in the tapas were covered in a thick layer of sauce, which we also had to scrape off.
If you’re a fan of heavy sauces and deep-fried food, this place might be perfect for you. Otherwise, it may not live up to...
