BISTRO MERCAT — Restaurant in Llucmajor

Nice ambience sitting outside in the square. Service was good, if a little slow. Sangria was not good, although strong if that’s what you’re looking for! Out of 4 dishes we ordered, one was excellent and the other 3 were mediocre/poor. Sadly based on this I would look elsewhere if you want to eat In Llucmajor.

Edit: I’ll tell you what is completely a no go and not best practice - making a passive aggressive reply to Google reviewers who have given an HONEST opinion, trying to shame them for their review and make out that they’re in the wrong. I was actually being generous when I gave this place 3 stars based on the non-food aspects. The food was very poor (apart from one dish) and certainly not the best quality on the island. In one week it was our worst meal, ingredients were not great quality and poorly executed with garlic overload that left us gasping for water all evening. Who wants to spend their evening out at dinner complaining about every dish and drink not being to their taste when otherwise they’re having a pleasant time. We made the decision to try out their tapas selection, and overall, we found the food to be quite enjoyable, especially considering the price. One great aspect was the variety of vegetarian options available, which gave us plenty to choose from. Among our selections were the Tortillas, spicy potatoes, lamb jaw, deep-fried cheese, and bacon-wrapped dates. However, the deep-fried cheese dish didn't quite meet our expectations as it lacked flavor and had a less satisfying texture.

The couple who owns the restaurant seemed friendly, although at times, their friendliness felt a bit forced. During our visit, we had the opportunity to interact with three different waiters, which added a unique touch to our experience. However, it did create some confusion when we received different information about the daily specials from different servers.

Despite these minor hiccups, we would still wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We suggest requesting a dedicated waiter for your table, as this would likely enhance the overall experience and avoid any potential...

Only had drinks, which are at a great price. We chose not to eat there because some guests did not respect the mask-rules and kept walking up and down the restaurant with their kid, and staff did not address this. A shame, food on neighbouring table looked good.

So a restaurant owner you believe that requesting that quests comply with laws that are designed to protect all your guests is being hostile? I believe that is being negligent in your duty to all your guests, and therefore will adjust my initial 4-star review accordingly.

Also, clearly you are not adressing the right incident; the father was carrying his child. It would have been easy to put on a mask before picking up his child to walk up and down the restaurant. He chose not to, and became rude in French ("de quoi je me mêle") when we requested he put on his mask. The remainder of the exchange was carried out in French, which we happen to speak...
