Dinner at Quina Brasa was by far the best meal I had while in Mallorca. The staff were all very friendly and it was clear that this is more than a job for them and more of a hobby/passion for good food. The patata brava were delicious but the stand out tapas was the special homemade small batch ham that was offered to us as an alternative to ox carpaccio. The ham had a very unexpected nutty taste to it. Our main dishes didn't dissapoint ether. I had the octapus laqured in sobrasada and honey, which was divine on top of a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. The true star though was the Iberian Porc 'Pluma' my bf ordered. I've never had porc that tasted like that, I almost couldn't believe it wasn't a steak (beef). The tapas and main dishes were so good, that I couldn't pass up trying the desert as well.
The atmosphere is also very nice. It was cool to see the coolers where they have the meet and fish hanging to dry age, and the open plan kitchen also provided entertainment as you could watch meals being prepared.
I would highly reccomend Quina Brasa to anyone visiting Mallorca, and will definitely be back the next...
Read moreFirst of all I will say that the pork ribs and the rack of lamb was very well cooked and tasted very good too. Also the attention and welcome delivered by the staff to begin with was top notch. Unfortunately the food is overpriced for what you receive in my opinion (TGI Fridays' ribs is essentially what you are getting but more costly) Also, as soon as we had ordered our food the quality of service took a nosedive. 3 waiters serving 4 small tables each should not be as difficult or as slow as the waiters made it look, even by Mediterranean standards for speed of service. We asked for the bill on 3 separate occasions and it took 20 minutes to arrive. Additionally, the char grilled vegetables were more burned than charred and far too salty. Add to this the cacophony of seemingly parentless feral children playing in the small park directly opposite and you soon realise why the dining experience is not ideal. Like I said at the start, the meat was good, everything...
Read moreThe food is very good, but it is expensive. The waiters and owner are very attentive and good service now on several occasions, but the house rose wine at 4.50 for a very small glass is too expensive, as is the water at 2.50 for half litre of filtered tap water - not even bottled! It seems they also charge 2.20 per person for bread & aioli even when you haven’t had it, so suggest you carefully check your bill. This is the second time this has happened to us and two more tables also complained of the same charge on the bill while we were there, so it seems it’s applied to all bills whether you have it or not…the waiter apologised and quickly changed the bill, almost too quickly, so it seems maybe they print two bills and hope people won’t notice the charge. A small point, but the prices are expensive anyway, so it makes you feel cheated, so I hope they stop...
