Cafè Colon — Restaurant in Llucmajor

Nice cafe in the square in Llucmajor, it's sort of middle to upmarket traditional bar and cafe. I sat outside and it was a very nice place to sit. This is the second time I visited and both times were good. Coffee tasted good, although not quite warm enough for me. The apple tart shown in the first picture was fabulous. The almond cake in the second picture was nice, a little dry, but not nearly as nice as the apple tart. The service I would say was efficient rather than friendly, not unfriendly though, I suspect the staff were just busy as it was a busy time of the day. The location is perfect, right in the town main square. The place itself is quite nice, with a 1970’s laid back Cuban style. The coffee is actually the best I’ve tried in town, and the sandwiches are nice as well. That being said, the service is the absolute worst. You can easily wait 20 minutes just for a waiter to take your order, not even looking at which table arrived first. Una prova més de com el personal contractat pot enfonsar un negoci. Atenció displicent, sense gens de professionalitat, menyspreant al client que sap el que vol i el que demana... Si afegim que els productes que ofereixen son de qualitat ínfima, i tenint en compte que al poble hi ha comerços que ofereixen productes de qualitat SUPREMA, no s'entén que els dolços típics de la illa siguin industrials (o ho semblin) igual que els llonguets (qualsevol semblança amb l'autèntic és mera coïncidència). Vam demanar un llonguet amb camaïot i no en tenien, amb sobrassada i ho porten calent (sense haver-ho demanat) al dir que la sobrassada calenta no ens senta bé, cap gest de rectificar; demanem que ens ho emboliquin en paper alumni i ens donen una bossa de paper perquè ens ho fem nosaltres (ens anàvem directes a la platja, no podiem ser curossos del medi ambient a banda d'endur-nos les deixalles per reciclar i sense tenir previst carregar amb un entrepà). La recreació de l'ambient colonial (gens acurada, per cert) que, en un principi, ens va atraura no justifica tampoc els preus.
