We arrived and asked for seating for two. The girl said she would need to check. After very short time, we are signaled to enter the restaurant. We were accepted. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed it wasn’t very busy at all so it was definitely a strange question to ask us to start with.
For the mains, I found it strange to have fried potatoes with meatballs. Meatballs not very good, very salty and the sauce tastes like it’s sour from being in the heat too long? Not nice. My wife had salmon with Mediterranean veg. Mushroom had zero flavour.
The starter was a mixer of roasted peppers, fried squid, thin slices of bread with tomatoes and meat on top Fried potatoes with half covered with mayonnaise and half covered with curry (I think). It was nicer than the main course.
Dessert was Greek yogurt with mango chutney top with a kind of sweet biscuit. It was very good. Best of the 3 course but not what really fills you up.
Lastly, the service is really lacklustre which is a compliment. No one seems to take an interest in anyone who is not local to the area. We asked for freshly squeezed orange juice at the start and were told they don’t have. Instead we get a horrible fizzy orange. Later when I was given the dessert menu, the orange juice was the first listing on it? To be honest, 2 star is generous. €61, we didn’t get a proper service or meal...
Read moreWent to Casa Carmen at Plaza Mayor to have Sunday Dinner. I was so disappointed with the service. 1st we ordered tea for 2 people. The tea came but there was hardly enough water so we asked our sever if we could have more water in the pots she went away and came back with a small cup of water. (OK not to worry.) I order dinner but their out of what I ordered. So I ordered salad with chicken. I also ordered a side of chips when it came it looked and tasted like it was last weeks chips. I asked for a fresh side and the server told me the chip were fresh. She took it away and never came back with any chips. My husband ordered Tikka chicken with fried rice. The chicken looked like cod fish and tasted like rubber and the rice was definitely boiled rice not fried. We asked for the manager, there was no manager. I guess that's why the food tasted like that. Worse Restaurant I have been to for years and I eat out...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience at Casa Carmen in Málaga. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, perfect for a relaxing meal. We tried several dishes, and the fish was especially fresh and perfectly cooked—full of flavor and beautifully presented.
What made our visit even better was learning that some dishes are halal, which we truly appreciated. It made the dining experience more inclusive and comfortable for our group.
The service was excellent—friendly, helpful, and very professional. The staff took the time to explain the menu and suggest the best options.
We highly recommend Casa Carmen for anyone visiting Málaga. Great food, welcoming staff, and a lovely ambiance. We’ll...
