La Plaza - Restaurant Malaga — Restaurant in Málaga

The service was terrible, even though the food was nice and the location and atmosphere is very nice!

We were 2 people. We waited around 15-20 minutes for a waitress to eventually take our order.

After ordering 2 drinks and 3 tapas, we waited about 30 minutes for the food.

Once the food arrived, we asked about the drinks, as they have not yet been served (simply 2 small beers).

The waiter apologised and said he will bring them and they will be “on the house”, to make up for the inconvenience.

Drinks came about 15 minutes later, when we were almost done eating.

When we asked for the bill, the waiter said he will bring it. Yet, we saw him standing outside with arms folded, chatting to his colleague.

After waiting about 20 minutes for the bill, we got up and went inside to pay.

The so called “on the house beers” were not on the house after all. We paid for them.

Last but not least, our table was not cleaned. Had sticky rings and spills on it, and the waitress simply put our serviette with cutlery on top of it.

I will certainly not come here again. What a big disappointment on Valentine’s Day.

Literally leaves a bad taste in...

Whenever I find a great place or service or whatever I always want to pass it on. So here ya go. La Plaza restaurant on Plaza de Merced is amazing. Seriously.

The service is awesome, they speak fluent English (if that’s important to you), and best of all? The food and drinks are the best I’ve had in Malaga—for real. The sangria is sublime—the perfect mix with a VERY healthy dose of brandy.

The menu is fab. A really wide and varied range of tapas, traditional Spanish food, pizzas, delish burgers and steaks etc—they even do a full English Breakfast if that’s your thing.

Oh, and they have a great choice of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free food —which, let’s face it is rare in Spain. The eggs Benedict are seriously the best I’ve had—and I lived in LA for 15-years, the brunch capital of the word—so I know my Benedicts, y’all.

It’s absolutely fabulous—and, it’s the best bang for your buck I’ve experienced in Malaga —ie: the price point is spot on, it’s total value for money.

Worst Restaurant experience ever, don‘t Go!! First the waiter didn’t See us, then forgot our drinks and then the blond waitress broght us food we did not Order which had cheese on it eventhough we clearly asked for the vegan meal - can happen, but instead of just politely bring us the right food, she lied to us of the cheese being yellow pepper and said she wouldn‘t bring us the right meal. After all she brought us the same meal 3 times in slightly different variations (just turned the burgerpatty with cheese around or added one topping) which was still completely different to what we ordered. Ended up having to eat and pay the already cold food. When we wanted to pay she sent a new waiter to not come to us ever again. Rudest service we ever had, couldnt enjoy the pricy...
