The food was the best vegetarian food I've eaten in a long time. I was on my way to the train station with a carry on. I asked to sit inside, not on the terrace because it was chilly. The waiter looked at my carry on and said it was full inside. He sat me on the edge and I was able to put my carry on under the table. I then proceeded to watch a couple enter and get seated inside. That kind of spoiled the visit. Obviously there was room inside. I live in Spain and understand the service end of eating out. But after I was seated I waited about 8 minutes, had to wave down the waiter for a menu. He looked at me with surprise, like he had forgotten I was there tucked into the table on the periphery. I ordered the aubergine main, which I was really looking forward to, as it sounded like a good choice for me. It was quite good. I asked for the bechamel sauce to be left off, and I’m glad I did. There was loads of tomato sauce and cheese on top, and no need for another sauce. They were accommodating in substituting extra salad instead of rice (which I don’t eat), but the salad was ruined by the sweet salad dressing they put on top. I have been served this type of dressing in other restaurants in Spain (Madrid, for example), though in Barcelona my experience is that they serve salad more to my taste: olive oil and vinegar for the diner to put on to her own taste.
