Amano Menorca — Restaurant in Maó

I felt like being in Cadiz, great quality and better service, the price was about 35 euros per person but it was simply one of the best restaurants of Menorca to share tapas. Last week I come back to this good restaurant for 5th time, the experience was not as good as other times, this is why I change the review forum 5 star 🌟 to just 3, the waiter was not as at the restaurant level, we just ordered 🍻 and glass of wine 🍷, the filled just very little portion, not even the minimum, but it is our fault as we did not complain, when we ordered the second one, he already realized and mentioned that he will refill with no cost but we shall not comment to metre, the food was also not the same quality as before, the 🦑 were not fresh or were not cooked correctly, we told the waiter and he said that he will arrange with a surprise later, the dessert was simply amazing, the fruit was perfect but took 40 minutes to bring it to us, at the end when we got the bill, the two glasses of wine were there, the calamari 🦑 also, there was not even any "surprise" but the full price of everything, so I decided that it is not time to complain and pay, but maybe not return. I also spoke with some friends that also used to go there and asked if they knew if this restaurant has change the ownership recently? As also in Google did not appear... Now I see that is back and maybe will not come back after...

El pasado domingo decidimos visitar este restaurante con ganas de disfrutar de su propuesta gastronómica. La elección del menú fue sencilla: croquetas, torrezno con patatas revolconas y unas cervezas.

Las croquetas llegaron a la mesa sin problema, manteniendo una buena textura y sabor. Sin embargo, al probar las patatas revolconas que acompañaban el torrezno, notamos de inmediato que estaban frías y sin sabor. Optamos por comunicarlo a la camarera, quien con amabilidad nos indicó que trasladaría nuestra inquietud a cocina. Al regresar, nos confirmó que las patatas estaban insípidas y que revisarían qué podían hacer al respecto.

Lo que siguió fue una espera de aproximadamente 10 minutos, en la que asumimos que nos ofrecerían una rectificación o al menos algún tipo de explicación. Sin embargo, lo único que recibimos fue la cuenta. Al revisar, notamos que del precio original de 16,50 euros por el plato de torrezno y patatas, nos habían cobrado 14,50 euros, reduciendo solo 2 euros por el problema.

Al expresar nuestra inconformidad y señalar que lo justo sería pagar la mitad del precio del plato, dado que solo habíamos podido consumir la parte correspondiente al torrezno, el administrador intervino. Lamentablemente, su actitud fue altanera e intimidante, insistiendo en que debíamos pagar lo que se indicaba en la cuenta. Al intentar explicarle nuevamente nuestro punto, su tono se tornó agresivo, sugiriendo que nuestro objetivo era no pagar nada y poniendo en duda nuestra intención de cumplir con el pago.

Ante esta situación, solicitamos la hoja de reclamaciones y aceptamos su advertencia de llamar a la policía para que actuaran como mediadores. Finalmente, gracias a la intervención de los agentes, nos dimos cuenta de que ni siquiera nos habían entregado la hoja de reclamación correcta.

Más allá del precio o la calidad puntual de un plato, lo que verdaderamente marcó la experiencia fue la actitud del administrador. La falta de empatía y el trato intimidante nos dejaron una sensación desagradable, haciéndonos cuestionar si esto es un patrón dirigido a turistas o simplemente una mala gestión del servicio al cliente.

Si decides visitar este restaurante, más que estar atento a la comida, te recomendamos hacer valer tus derechos como consumidor. La gastronomía es un placer, pero el respeto y el trato digno nunca deberían...

We were sat and then ignored mostly for 15+ minutes, two other tables were seated after us and received menus and food before us, this was the fault if the section waiter. The friendliest and most organised staff member was the tall man that spoke little english, the others seemed disinterested, disorganised and haughty, possibly because we are foreigners, thats the feeling I got and get a lot as someone very well travelled... but people need to realise all money in pays the bills! Some of the food was great, namely the berenjena frita y el pan con tomate which doesn't take a lot of preparation. The brochetas de lomo de cerdo were very very acidic, and if we weren't so hungry by this time we would have sent it back. Its not a 3 star, more like 3.5...
