Cervecería La Lidia — Restaurant in Madrid

Was here just today for lunch (el bistrot is in a quiet boulevard avenue just near the plaza de Toros/ventas)…the best owner (and cassiera, su esposa’ pienso and general service).. who explained everything regarding the food specialties and so I Had the best/biggest calamari in my life! Also a glass of fine andaluz vino blanco was just 3€ and the (almost fine dining) presentation and the portions are optimal enough to keep me easy-light yet full for the whole afternoon (perfect if you Are on the go as a tourist in Madrid and Plaza Toros/Ventas is really worth visiting!!)… really reasonable prices (this is not city centre so hence the intimacy and simplicity yet quality without unnecessary snobism)… as It is almost my dinner time now….the only thing I regret was not taking the tiramisu offer the owner suggested for dessert…guess I’ll have to come by next time...

Mi Cuartel General para mis legendarias paradas de postas. Me hacen sentir como en casa. Jorge lleva todo sin perder detalle, siempre tan amable, y cuidando a sus clientes a tope. Doy fe de que es un gran profesional, súper-trabajador. Cuida mucho la cocina, aquí no hay cutradas; compra buena materia prima, y los cocineros son estupendos. El personal, magnífico.

Un local de barrio, modesto en tamaño, pero grande en calidez humana. Aquí estoy muy a gusto, a mi bola, en paz :)

Conozco las croques -de jamón y de humus-, una carne de categoría, la ensalada de tomate y ventresca -gran tomate; los vinos, seleccionados personalmente por Jorge, bien ricos y variados; diferentes, no los de siempre:) Y desayunos, con tosta de aguacate.

Innovan en cocina, así que no es lo típico de sota-caballo-rey :). Ejemplos: pollo con curry, huevos rotos diferentes, con pimientos asados, y camarones fritos.

Y siempre tapas estupendas con las bebidas :)

Pues eso, un bar de confianza, modesto, limpio, de buen ambiente, donde estar muy a gusto, sin borrachuzos ni cutrerías, con precios razonables, y trato súper-cercano. Y con alegría, que uno viene para pasar un buen rato :)

Antes de Jorge, esto estaba hundido, doy fe; Jorge lo ha relanzado doblando su espalda, y se nota.

La terraza es una gloria.

En fin, cierto es que mi sesgo es que soy vecino, ja ja, pero igualmente cierto es que todo esto es verdad. Doy fe. Si no, no me molestaría...

This is a great place to eat for breakfast , lunch or dinner. I recommend all three! The food is tasty and the serves are a good size. The coffee, beer and wine is perfect The staff were amazing, friendly and welcoming. Always trying to make your experience enjoyable. Every part of Cerveceria La Lidia is worth the visit.
