I don't often write bad reviews but we just ate at this restaurant because of the great reviews and the fact that it's nearby where we're staying and I was highly disappointed in the food and the management. I had a feeling things were not going to go well when I learnt that the chef had not arrived yet at 8pm and so the manager was going to go and prepare the food. I felt even worse when shortly after I heard a dish crash to the floor in the kitchen and break. We chose a simple classic burger for our son with egg, cheese and bacon as extras. Actually it was a nice burger but no egg. The bun was a boring Bimbo bun. Otherwise the burger was nice. My wife and I ordered the grilled vegetables, goat's cheese salad, tuna tataki and solomillo de ternera, which I asked to be very rare. The only dish that met expectations was the grilled vegetables. The goat's cheese was hard and tasted stale and the salad was rather boring. The tuna tataki (pictured) was the worst I've ever seen or eaten, chewy and soaked on one side, presumably with soya sauce, and certainly did not deserve the positive reviews from others. The solomillo de ternera first arrived as pieces of pork, very dry looking, which I rejected. When the supposedly rare solomillo de ternera arrived about 15 minutes later, although rare in the very centre, it was otherwise overcooked, hard, chewy and dry. What made matters especially worse for me is that when I questioned the waiter about whether perhaps it was not the usual chef, he went to ask assistance from the manager. But the manager did absolutely nothing. A good manager would surely have recognised that he had some very unhappy customers and at least come to the table to offer some words of apology or comfort. This guy did nothing. Not even a glimpse towards us and of course we were charged in full.... €85, which would be fair had it been up to the standards described by others but it was not. Apart from the food, the service was not great, especially due to the mix up of course, which was inexcusable because I even double checked with the waiter that I was ordering the best steak and insisted I wanted it very rare, which would surely not be the case with pork. The waiter was pleasant enough but seemed very unsure of himself. Dirty dishes and empty drinks cans were not cleared away even though the table was tiny for 3. And I sat with an empty glass for a long time until I called for a refill. At around 9.30pm as we were finishing our meal I noticed at least 3 more senior looking people enter the restaurant and go down to the kitchen. I would hard a guess therefore that our meal was prepared by some kitchen assistant and these were the real kitchen staff arriving later. I like to think we were just unlucky to go there on a bad night and that hopefully it would be better another time but the fact that the manager completely ignored our unhappiness makes me doubt that. I would definitely not rate this place as highly as others and would certainly suggest you do not go there before 9.30pm, in the hope that there are more accomplished kitchen staff on duty later in the evening. Grossly overrated and overpriced. And, if you check my reviews, I don't normally say bad things about...

Turistada total.

We went for dinner. First, we have some croquettes that were pretty unassuming, we weren't even able to really differentiate one fill from the other taste-wise. The main course was pretty good on the other hand, my wife went for the pork fillet (Secreto Iberico) with hand-made fries, tasty Iberian pork and really good fries. I had the confited pork belly with chimichurri sauce that was really good, tender inside and light crusty on the outside, and in a big portion. A really nice way to prepare a humble piece of meat. For dessert we shared a carrot cake that was ok.

I didn't like the decor based on plastic plants on the walls and ceiling out of pure safety concerns. Not so far ago a restaurant suffered a major problem due to a fire spreading on those very...

No defrauda.

Amazing food and amazing service. Their croquetas are next level and you have to try their tequeños. I had the Secreto and topped it up with Chistorras - it was incredible. It almost melted in my mouth. We ended our meal with an amazing desert. Definitely recommended. Best place I’ve been in my holiday in Madrid
