Restaurant Porto Bello — Restaurant in Manacor

I hate leaving a poor review but unfortunately this place committed a cardinal sin. We called by for lunch on a hot summers day whilst on holiday here, we had walked by many times and always wondered why this place was a lot less busy than its neighbouring restaurants. We really fancied some fresh fish so the waited said we have some fresh fish caught today let me go and see what we have. Sounds great. He came back enthusiastically with a plate with three fish, we chose two and he said he could make a special platter for two to share, sounded great. The platter arrived and it was indeed very nicely presented and lovely (fish was very over cooked unfortunately but thats not my issue here). I had that niggle thinking he hasnt said how much this is going to cost, but the most expensive fish dish on the menu was under 30 euros so we figured 2x30 plus a bit for special.. right.. wrong! That platter for two was charged at 150 euros and the drinks and kids food we had a lunch bill of 180 euros. It was nice, it was different than your normal menu items but no way 150 euros worth. Unfortunately that made us feel ripped off, and ruined the whole experience. Ive spent days questioning if im being unreasonable, but after visiting other restaurants where special dishes were mentioned in full along with their cost, i feel this place should have been upfront about that and done the same. If it had been reasonable then i would have given a 4 star. The waiter didn't seem to care when I questioned the cost either, thats what it is. Well 1 star is what it is.

Short Version: Dont eat there

Long Version: We chose this restaurant because it has a nice view and there were lots of people in there, so we thought that the food is pretty good. But we were proven wrong. I ordered bread with olive oil and paella with seafood whilst my wife ordered squid as an appetizer and fish as the main dish. We waited 45 minutes just to be informed that the appetizer ist not availible. Shocked that they took so long to let us know, my wife asked if they could serve the already ordered bread. It took another 10 minutes to serve the the bread, but for some unexplaineble reason they served the dish twice forcing us to reject one. We ate the dish and the waiting game began again. We waited another 15 minutes until they served the main dish. The fish was good but the seafood in the paella tasted frozen. After more than 2 hours, we finally finished our meal. I wouldnt recommend anybody to eat there.

Ordered 4 adults meals and 3 children meal and drinks Everyone meal came out apart from mine it came out about 10 minutes later which was a grilled chicken Everyone's meal was cook and tasty Mine looked good but the chicken was not cooked and pink I told them which they took away now when this happens anywhere else in a restaurant you get a new piece of chicken nope I got the same chicken and again parts of it was still pink so I decided that I could not eat it as I was put off which I told the staff that I wasn't going to eat it Once the others had finished I ask for the bill and as I guessed they had put my meal on the bill I informed the staff that I was not paying for mine which she said I would need to pay for it I told her no I'm not So she said she woukd asked the manager then came back and said it was OK your not going to be charged for my meal The best thing out of all this was no apology about my meal Poor service poor food Definitely next time I will not be eating there DONT EAT THE CHICKEN THE RESTAURANT...
