Before going to this Chiringuito for a meal, we listened to several people say how expensive it was. We went anyway. let's kill that misunderstanding about the value of this place.
The misunderstanding is that it is a 'Chiringuito'. If you go with that expectation, you will feel the visit was expensive. La Plage Romeo is a RESTAURANT and make no mistake, it's a very, very good restaurant. It's a restaurant on the Beach (literally) and it's hi-end in terms of food quality & presentation, meal options offered, design of the interior, location (on the beach looking across the Mediterranean Sea), seat comfort (encouraging long stays), design of the wrap-around-terrace, service (close to silver service), wine and cocktail offering (probably one of the best Pornstar Martinis available and served correctly (with the Prosecco shot), atmosphere and friendliness. The owner is the executive chef, he is always mixing and mingling with customers ... he actually wants to hear honest feedback good or bad.
This restaurant is not hi-end in it's pricing. It's comparable to quality restaurants in Estepona, Marbella, Madrid, etc. It is not comparable in anyway to the myriad of excellent Chiringuitos along the coast.
This is a bucket-list restaurant experience. For the food, drink and divine, stunning location. This restaurant gives everybody the chance to spend a few hours eating, drinking, conversing and meeting in a location usually only affordable by mega-bucks footballers, movie-stars or expensed Politicians.
We went several times and our chosen wine from the cellar was Sancerre, our best meals were Black Paella, Lambshank and Goats Chees salad. We ate 3 course meals with a fairly priced but comparatively expensive wine (compared to many other less expensive excellent wines offered)
La Plage Beach Club website says it all very much more accurately and eloquently than we can, they say:
WE ARE THAT MOMENT.
Enough now, go there. You'll never regret it, but if you don't, it is just possible ... you might.

Read moreMy husband Myles and I ate at this beach restaurant/bar and relaxed for the day in the sun in a beautiful setting. I just wanted to inform Thierry who owns this restaurant, how wonderful certain members of his staff he employs really are! Firstly the chef is amazing. The Octopus and potato was beyond, the best octopus he had ever eaten and he had never liked mashed potato until he ate yours! The linguini Pil Pil was a winner considering he doesn’t normally enjoy pasta!! I want to take the chef home 😀We have eaten at many restaurants and have known this area of Spain for the past 40 years. To run a successful establishment, staff are key, there are certain keepers! TATENDA (First Class) attentive, polite, bright, on point! I’d employ him tomorrow! I’d have him in charge of all my staff as head waiter! An absolute gentleman! Ramon worked the beach, serving drinks, although he only spoke Spanish, he was superb, keen to help, fast on his feet, such a hard working man! Impressive. Natalie, with a beautiful smile. Zahan, worked the bar, was also memorable.
Thierry, you have a great restaurant be sure to keep these staff as they made me return day after day!
Thank...
Read moreHighly recommended.
Eating here quite frankly made our holiday when staying in the nearby Los Granados with duquesa estates. The kids hamburger is a proper burger and was consumed daily by my son. The wraps are great as is the black rice paella. However, the pil pil linguine is the star of the menu for me.
All the staff were fantastic with my 5 year old son, everyone is genuinely engaging, kind and friendly.
Food great, Wine great, cocktails great, service perfect.
In acknowledgment of recent mentions of cost / ownership changes: I never once questioned if I was getting value for money and we are here 6/7 times during our holiday. Everyone has their own budget, for me I felt I got what I paid for.
I visited Romeo’s over 10 years ago… loved it then and love it...
